    Abstract

    Saat ini, mahasiswa dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan abad ke-21 untuk menghadapi dunia kerja yang semakin kompleks, terutama mahasiswa bidang informatika. Oleh karena itu, perlu suatu model pembelajaran yang relevan untuk pengembangan potensi dan keterampilan mahasiswa. Dalam kurikulum merdeka, model pembelajaran project-based learning (PjBL) dianggap relevan dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan abad ke-21. Namun, berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di Purwakarta, peneliti menemukan bahwa banyak mahasiswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Hal serupa dikemukakan dalam penelitian terdahulu, bahwa mahasiswa seringkali mengalami kesulitan dalam mengelola waktu, tim, dan tekanan dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa bidang terhadap project-based learning yang mencakup keterlibatan, tantangan, dan manfaat. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan 344 mahasiswa bidang informatika di Purwakarta yang berpatisipasi sebagai responden. Berdasarkan hasil, secara umum persepsi mahasiswa terhadap project-based learning berada di kategori positif dengan skor 3,70. Indikator manfaat memperoleh skor tertinggi (4,21), sedangkan indikator tantangan memperoleh skor terendah (2,98). Temuan ini menunjukkan jika project-based learning memberikan dampak positif terhadap keterlibatan dan manfaat bagi mahasiswa, akan tetapi tantangan dan kendala tetap tidak bisa dihindari dalam pelaksanaannya. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini dapat membantu para akademisi, khususnya dosen, dalam memahami persepsi dan tantangan yang dihadapi mahasiswa selama pembelajaran berbasis proyek berlangsung. Hasil temuan ini, dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang sesuai dengan kebutuan dan kemampuan mahasiswa. ----- Currently, students are required to possess 21st-century skills to face the increasingly complex world of work, especially informatics students. Therefore, a relevant learning model is needed to develop students' potential and skills. In the independent curriculum, the project-based learning (PjBL) model is considered relevant and effective in improving 21st-century skills. However, based on observations in Purwakarta, researchers found that many students experience difficulties in project-based learning. Similar findings were expressed in previous research, where students often experience difficulties in managing time, teams, and pressure in project-based learning. This study aims to describe and analyze students' perceptions of project-based learning, including involvement, challenges, and benefits. The approach used in this study was descriptive quantitative, with 344 informatics students in Purwakarta participating as respondents. Based on the results, students' perceptions of project-based learning were generally positive with a score of 3.70. The benefits indicator received the highest score (4.21), while the challenges indicator received the lowest score (2.98). These findings indicate that project-based learning has a positive impact on student engagement and benefits, but challenges and obstacles remain unavoidable in its implementation. Therefore, this research can help academics, particularly lecturers, understand the perceptions and challenges faced by students during project-based learning. These findings can serve as a basis for designing project-based learning strategies that are tailored to student needs and abilities.
