    Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of a baby's life has great benefits for both baby and mother's health. In addition to supporting the growth and development of the baby, exclusive breastfeeding can delay the return of menstruation through the mechanism of lactational amenorrhea, which is influenced by an increase in the hormone prolactin. This study aims to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the return of menstruation in breastfeeding mothers. This research method uses quantitative research using total sampling technique. Respondents in this study were breastfeeding mothers aged 20 35 who had children aged 6-12 months and were or were not using contraception in Trunamanggala Village. Data were collected using the Exclusive Breastfeeding and Return of Menstrual Time questionnaire. The results showed that most of the breastfeeding mothers provided exclusive breastfeeding and experienced the return of menstruation ≥ 6 months as many as 39 people (100%), while 17 people (81%) provided exclusive breastfeeding but the return of menstruation occurred < 6 months. This study shows that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the return of menstruation.
