Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh neuroticism trait dan social comparison terhadap social media fatigue pada pengguna aplikasi TikTok usia 18-35 tahun di Bandung Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi sederhana melalui aplikasi SPSS Statistics 29. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri atas 546 responden dengan karakteristik sebagai pengguna aplikasi TikTok, berusia 18-35 tahun, yang berdomisili di Bandung Raya. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu non probability sampling, dengan instrumen pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah IPIP-BFM-50 (Akhtar & Azwar, 2019) untuk variabel neuroticism trait, Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientations Measure (Krisanti, 2022) untuk social comparison, dan Social Media Fatigue Scale (Azhari et al., 2024) untuk social media fatigue. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linear sederhana dengan masing-masing nilai signifikansi <.001 (p < 0.05). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, social media fatigue dipengaruhi oleh tingkat neuroticism trait serta social comparison yang tinggi. This study aims to determine the influence of neuroticism traits and social comparison on social media fatigue among TikTok users aged 18-35 in the Greater Bandung area. This research employs a quantitative method with simple regression analysis using the SPSS Statistics 29 application. The sample for this study consists of 546 respondents, characterized as TikTok users aged 18-35, residing in the Greater Bandung area. The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability sampling, with data collection instruments being the IPIP-BFM-50 (Akhtar & Azwar, 2019) for the neuroticism trait variable, the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientations Measure (Krisanti, 2022) for social comparison, and the Social Media Fatigue Scale (Azhari et al., 2024) for social media fatigue. The data analysis technique used in this study is simple linear regression analysis with significance values of <.001 (p < 0.05) for each. Based on the results of the data analysis, social media fatigue is influenced by a high level of neuroticism trait as well as social comparison.
