Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on student participation in extracurricular martial arts activities at Nugraha Junior High School in Bandung. The background of this study is based on the low level of student participation in martial arts extracurricular activities, which is caused by a lack of motivation and innovation in the implementation of activities. This study uses an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The instrument used is a student participation questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The research subjects were 30 students participating in martial arts extracurricular activities. Statistical test results showed a significant increase between pretest and posttest scores, as evidenced by the t-test results with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that the application of the TGT cooperative learning model is effective in increasing student participation in martial arts extracurricular activities. This model not only encourages active student involvement but also creates a fun, competitive, and collaborative training environment.
