Abstract
Keterampilan berbicara merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam penguasaan bahasa, terutama pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Namun, siswa kelas V masih menunjukkan keterampilan berbicara yang rendah, ditandai dengan kurangnya rasa percaya diri, kelancaran, dan kejelasan dalam menyampaikan gagasan secara lisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Talking Stick yang didukung media Question Box terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas V SD Negeri 11 Semper Barat pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan dua kelompok, yaitu kelas VB sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VA sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes lisan yang terdiri dari sepuluh pertanyaan untuk mengukur keterampilan berbicara siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan berbicara siswa kelompok eksperimen, dengan rata-rata skor Pretest sebesar 66,42 meningkat menjadi 87,33 pada Posttest. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa model Talking Stick yang didukung media Question Box memberikan kontribusi sebesar 42,9% terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa. Sementara itu, kelompok kontrol tidak menunjukkan peningkatan yang sebanding. ----- Speaking skills are one of the essential aspects of language proficiency, particularly at the elementary school level. However, fifth-grade students still exhibit low speaking abilities, as reflected in their lack of confidence, fluency, and clarity in expressing their opinions orally. This study aims to examine the influence of the Talking Stick learning model supported by Question Box media on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 11 Semper Barat during the 2024/2025 academic year. This study employed a quasi-experimental method involving two groups: class VB as the experimental group and class VA as the control group. The research instrument was an oral test consisting of ten questions designed to assess students’ speaking abilities. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the speaking skills of students in the experimental group. The average Pretest score of 66.42 increased to 87.33 in the Posttest. Data analysis indicated that the Talking Stick model, supported by the Question Box media, contributed 42.9% to the improvement of students' speaking skills. Meanwhile, the control group did not show a comparable level of progress.
