Abstract
Permasalahan lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh sampah plastik menjadi isu ekologi yang di terus hadapi oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Permasalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh rendahnya kesadaran akan praktik daur ulang dan tingginya tingkat konsumsi plastik sekali pakai, khususnya dalam industri coffee shop. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sarana saji berbasis material sampah plastik dengan metode pendekatan slow design. Penelitian ini berfokus pada nilai keberlanjutan dan keterlibatan pengguna dalam menggunakan produk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi lapangan dan wawancara di Karma Coffee, sebagai coffee shop yang menerapkan visi berkelanjutan. Pendekatan slow design pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis elemen ruang dan aktivitas yang ada di Karma Coffee, dengan tujuan untuk memahami dan mengungkap potensi desain. Dengan mengacu pada enam prinsip slow design, produk dirancang untuk dapat menjadi medium yang mendorong keterlibatan pengguna baik secara emosional dan multisensoris. Hasil penelitian ini berupa produk saji yang mampu memperkuat pengalaman pengguna melalui keterlibatan emosional dan multisensoris dalam aktivitas penyajian di ruang Karma Coffee. Environmental issues caused by plastic waste have become an ongoing ecological problem faced by Indonesian society. These issues stem from low awareness of recycling practices and high levels of single-use plastic consumption, particularly within the coffee shop industry. This study aims to design serving utensils made from plastic waste using a slow design approach. The research focuses on sustainability values and user engagement in product use. This study employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques through field observations and interviews at Karma Coffee, a coffee shop that implements a sustainable vision. The slow design approach in this study aims to analyze the spatial elements and activities at Karma Coffee to understand and uncover design potential. Based on the six principles of slow design, the product is designed to serve as a medium that encourages user engagement both emotionally and multisensorily. The research results consist of a serving product that enhances the user experience through emotional and multisensory engagement in the serving activities within the Karma Coffee space.
