Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dasar anak usia dini melalui penggunaan media kartu kata bergambar. Masalah dalam penelitian ini ditemukan di TK Perwari 1 Tasikmalaya, yaitu masih rendahnya kemampuan anak dalam mengenal huruf, bunyi huruf, membaca, dan menulis nama sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 15 anak kelompok B usia 5–6 tahun. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu kata bergambar memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan literasi dasar anak. Pada tahap prasiklus, rata-rata capaian hanya sebesar 35,71%. Setelah siklus I meningkat menjadi 70%, dan pada siklus II mencapai 91,42%. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran visual yang interaktif dapat menstimulasi minat belajar anak dan mempermudah mereka dalam mengenal serta memahami huruf dan kata secara menyenangkan. Kesimpulannya, media kartu kata bergambar efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dasar anak usia dini, khususnya dalam mengenal huruf, bunyi huruf, serta membaca dan menulis nama sendiri. Kata kunci: literasi dasar, anak usia dini, kartu kata bergambar This study aims to improve the basic literacy skills of early childhood learners through the use of illustrated word card media. The problem was identified at TK Perwari 1 Tasikmalaya, where children showed low abilities in recognizing letters, letter sounds, reading, and writing their names. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15 children aged 5–6 years from Group B. The data were collected through observation, field notes, and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results showed that the use of illustrated word card media had a positive impact on children's basic literacy development. In the pre-cycle stage, the average achievement rate was 35.71%, which increased to 70% in cycle I and reached 91.42% in cycle II. These improvement indicates that interactive visual learning media can stimulate children’s learning interest and help them recognize and understand letters and words in an enjoyable way. In conclusion, illustrated word card media is effective in improving early childhood literacy skills, particularly in recognizing letters, letter sounds, reading and writing names.
