    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilakukan oleh peneliti untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis istilah teknologi digital dalam drama Korea Start-Up yang tayang pada tahun 2020. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah mengkaji jenis istilah, asal bahasa, proses pembentukan kata, serta perubahan makna yang terjadi pada istilah-istilah tersebut. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital yang memunculkan berbagai istilah baru untuk mencerminkan inovasi dan dinamika dalam kehidupan modern. Salah satu media populer yang menjadi wadah penyebaran istilah teknologi digital adalah drama Korea, yang tidak hanya menyajikan hiburan tetapi juga merefleksikan perkembangan bahasa dan budaya kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa penyimakan terhadap dialog antar tokoh dalam drama dan pencatatan istilah teknologi digital yang muncul. Data kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan klasifikasi bidang teknologi, asal-usul bahasa, struktur kata, dan perubahan makna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa istilah yang paling banyak muncul berasal dari bidang Artificial Intelligence. Dari segi asal bahasa, sebagian besar istilah merupakan serapan dari bahasa asing, khususnya bahasa Inggris. Dalam hal bentuk, istilah yang dominan berbentuk kata tunggal. Sementara itu, dari sisi makna, sebagian besar istilah mengalami perluasan makna. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa drama Korea, khususnya Start-Up, dapat dijadikan sebagai objek kajian linguistik yang bernilai, terutama dalam menelusuri dinamika dan perkembangan istilah dalam bahasa Korea di bidang teknologi digital. This research was conducted by the researcher to describe and analyze digital technology terms found in the Korean drama Start-Up, which aired in 2020. The primary focus of this research is to examine the types of terms, their linguistic origins, word formation processes, and the semantic changes they undergo. The background of this study lies in the rapid advancement of digital technology, which has given rise to numerous new terms that reflect innovation and the dynamics of modern life. One popular medium that serves as a channel for the dissemination of digital technology terms is Korean drama, which not only provides entertainment but also reflects the evolution of contemporary language and culture. The method employed in this study is qualitative descriptive, with data collected by observing character dialogues throughout the drama and noting the digital technology terms that appear. The data were then analyzed based on classifications of technological fields, language origin, word structure, and semantic change. The findings indicate that the most frequently occurring terms are related to the field of Artificial Intelligence. In terms of language origin, the most terms are loanwords from foreign languages, particularly English. Structurally, the most common terms appear as single-word forms. Semantically, the most terms have undergone a broadening of meaning. These findings suggest that Korean dramas, especially Start-Up, can serve as valuable objects of linguistic study, particularly in tracing the dynamics and development of terminology in the Korean language within the domain of digital technology. 이 연구는 2020 년에 방영된 한국 드라마 ‘스타트업’에 등장하는 디지털 기술 관련 용어들을 기술하고 분석하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 본 연구의 주요 목적은 이 드라마에 등장하는 디지털 기술 용어의 종류, 언어적 기원, 단어 형성 방식, 그리고 의미 변화 과정을 체계적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 연구의 배경에는 현대 사회 전반에 걸쳐 급격히 발전하고 있는 디지털 기술이 있으며, 이로 인해 다양한 새로운 용어들이 지속적으로 생성되고 있으며, 이러한 용어들은 혁신과 현대 생활의 역동성을 반영하고 있다. 이와 같은 용어들은 기술 문헌뿐 아니라 대중문화 콘텐츠를 통해서도 대중에게 확산되고 있으며, 특히 한국 드라마는 단순한 오락 콘텐츠를 넘어 현대 사회의 언어와 문화를 반영하는 중요한 매체로 간주된다. 본 연구에서는 질적 연구 방법인 기술적 방법을 채택하였으며, 자료 수집은 드라마 대사를 청취하고, 등장하는 디지털 기술 용어들을 선별하여 기록하는 방식으로 이루어졌다. 수집된 데이터는 기술 분야 분류, 언어 기원, 어휘 구조, 그리고 의미 변화라는 네 가지 기준에 따라 분석되었다. 분석 결과, 가장 많은 용어가 인공지능 분야에서 비롯되었으며, 언어적 기원 측면에서는 대부분 영어에서 유래한 외래어로 나타났다. 단어 형태는 단일어가 지배적이었고, 의미 변화 양상에서는 의미의 확장 현상이 가장 두드러졌다. 이러한 결과는 드라마 ‘스타트업’이 디지털 기술 용어의 형성과 발전을 살펴보는 데 있어 유의미한 언어학적 자료가 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
