    Abstract

    Karakteristik dan motivasi wisatawan merupakan dua faktor yang dapat memengaruhi keputusan seseorang dalam memilih destinasi wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh karakteristik dan motivasi wisatawan terhadap keputusan berkunjung ke Toga Hill Sumedang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 100 responden yang merupakan wisatawan. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda untuk mengukur pengaruh masing-masing variabel, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik karakteristik maupun motivasi wisatawan terdapat berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan berkunjung. Karakteristik yang dominan adalah keinginan untuk berlibur dan melepaskan diri dari rutinitas, sedangkan motivasi yang paling menonjol adalah untuk mengurangi stres serta mempererat kebersamaan dengan keluarga. Secara simultan, karakteristik dan motivasi wisatawan terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan berkunjung ke Toga Hill Sumedang. Namun, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya faktor lain di luar model yang turut memengaruhi keputusan tersebut. Karakteristik wisatawan umumnya didorong oleh kebutuhan rekreasi dan keinginan melepaskan diri dari rutinitas, sedangkan motivasi yang paling dominan adalah untuk mengurangi stres dan mempererat kebersamaan keluarga. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman karakteristik dan motivasi wisatawan sebagai dasar dalam menyusun strategi promosi dan pengelolaan destinasi yang lebih tepat sasaran. Traveler characteristics and motivation are two factors that can influence a person's decision to choose a tourist destination. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of tourist characteristics and motivation on the decision to visit Toga Hill Sumedang. The research was conducted with a quantitative approach through distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who were tourists. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to measure the effect of each variable, both partially and simultaneously. The results showed that both characteristics and motivation of tourists had a significant effect on visiting decisions. The dominant characteristic is the desire for vacation and escape from routine, while the most prominent motivation is to reduce stress and strengthen togetherness with family. Simultaneously, tourist characteristics and motivations are proven to have a significant effect on the decision to visit Toga Hill Sumedang. However, the results also show that there are other factors outside the model that influence the decision. The characteristics of tourists are generally driven by the need for recreation and the desire to escape from routine, while the most dominant motivation is to reduce stress and strengthen family togetherness. These findings emphasize the importance of understanding tourist characteristics and motivations as a basis for developing more targeted promotion and destination management strategies.
