    Abstract

    Kemampuan penalaran matematis merupakan kemampuan individu untuk menghubungkan dan menyimpulkan fakta-fakta logis yang diketahui, menganalisis data, menjelaskan dan membuat suatu kesimpulan yang valid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan hasil analisis terhadap data yang diperoleh di lapangan sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan terkait kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas IX SMP melalui pembelajaran inquiry learning pada topik volume balok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 16 Kota Bandung pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setelah dilakukannya pembelajaran menggunakan model inquiry learning, sebanyak 16 dari 26 siswa kemampuan penalaran matematisnya berada pada kategori sedang. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari setengah siswa masih berada pada tingkat kemampuan penalaran matematis yang perlu ditingkatkan. Ketercapaian indikator penalaran matematis, indikator menyajikan pernyataan matematika, manipulasi matematika, dan mengajukan dugaan cenderung lebih mudah dicapai siswa, sedangkan indikator memberikan alasan atau bukti dan menarik kesimpulan masih menjadi kendala utama. Mathematical reasoning ability is an individual's ability to connect and conclude known logical facts, analyze data, explain and make a valid conclusion. This research aims to describe the results of the analysis of the data obtained in the field so that conclusions can be drawn related to the mathematical reasoning ability of the grade IX junior high school students through inquiry learning on the topic of beam volume. This research used qualitative research approach with case study method. The subjects in this study were ninth grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Bandung City in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The results shows that after learning using the inquiry learning model, 16 out of 26 students mathematical reasoning ability was in the medium category. This shows that more than half of the students are still at the level of mathematical reasoning ability that needs to be improved. The achievement of mathematical reasoning indicators, indicators of presenting mathematical statements, mathematical manipulation, and making conjectures tend to be easier for students to achieve, while indicators of providing reasons or evidence and drawing conclusions are still the main obstacles.
