    Abstract

    Ketidakpahaman anak tunarungu terhadap konsep kata kerja bedampak terhadap kemampuan anak tunarungu dalam memahami kosakata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning terhadap pemahaman kosakata pada anak tunarungu. Metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari enam anak tunarungu di jenjang SD di SLBN SKPR. Instrumen berupa tes pilihan ganda. Uji coba instrumen menggunakan validitas isi (content validity) yang melibatkan penilaian dari beberapa ahli (expert judgement). Uji reliabilitas menggunakan teknik Kuder Richardson 20 (KR-20). Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji wilcoxon signed rank test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman kosakata terkait kata kerja dalam aspek penerjemahan (translation) kemampuan menterjemahkan konsepsi abstrak, aspek penafsiran (interpretation) kemampuan menjelaskan materi, dan extrapolasi (extrapolation) kemampuan memperluas arti. Model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning senantiasa mengaitkan pembelajaran dengan pengalaman nyata yang berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman kosakata pada anak tunarungu yang berdasar kepada sintaksis contextual teaching and learning yaitu relating (menghubungkan), experiencing (mengalami), applying (menerapkan), cooperating (bekerja sama), dan transferring (menstransfer). Penelitian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning dapat menjadi pertimbangan dalam pengajaran kosakata bagi anak tunarungu. Deaf children's lack of understanding of the concept of verbs affects their ability to understand vocabulary. This study aims to determine the effect of contextual teaching and learning model on vocabulary understanding in deaf children. Experimental research method with one group pretest posttest design. The research sample consisted of six deaf children at the elementary level at SLBN SKPR. The instrument was a multiple choice test. The instrument test used content validity which involved expert judgment. The reliability test used the Kuder Richardson 20 (KR-20) technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results showed an increase in vocabulary understanding related to verbs in the aspect of translation (translation) the ability to translate abstract conceptions, aspects of interpretation (interpretation) the ability to explain the material, and extrapolation (extrapolation) the ability to expand the meaning. The contextual teaching and learning model always connects learning with real experiences that affect vocabulary understanding in deaf children based on the syntax of contextual teaching and learning, namely relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, and transferring. This research implies that the contextual teaching and learning model can be considered in teaching vocabulary to deaf children.
