Abstract
The revitalization of the Situ Gede tourist destination in Tasikmalaya has brought significant changes for local entrepreneurs who depend on economic activities in the area. This study aims to identify the driving factors that encourage entrepreneurs to adapt and to analyze the adaptation strategies implemented during the revitalization process. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach, involving in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies of entrepreneurs and management parties. The results show that internal factors such as personal motivation, loyalty to business locations, and limited capital are the main drivers of adaptation, while external factors such as government policies, infrastructure conditions, and changes in tourist behavior pose their own challenges. The most dominant adaptation strategy is active strategy, including product diversification and optimization of family resources, followed by passive strategies such as operational savings and household needs adjustment, as well as the utilization of non-formal, family-based networks. The adaptations made by entrepreneurs are mostly independent and pragmatic responses to the lack of structural support from the government or local organizations.
