YULIA WULANDARI, - and EMI LINDAYANI, - (2025) PENERAPAN TEKNIK AKUPRESUR UNTUK MENGURANGI NYERI PADA IBU POST PARTUM SECTIO CAESAREA CASE REPORT DI RSUD UMAR WIRAHADIKUSUMAH. S1 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
Sectio caesarea (CS) is one of the most common methods of delivery, but it causes postoperative pain that can interfere with the comfort and recovery process of the mother. Non-pharmacological approaches such as acupressure are considered as effective and safe alternatives in post-CS pain management. The purpose of this study was to apply acupressure techniques to reduce pain in post-CS mothers. This research method used a case study approach (case report) on a post-CS mother in the Dahlia Room, Umar Wirahadikusumah Hospital. The intervention was in the form of acupressure therapy at points LI4, SP6, P6, ST36, and K1 for 1-2 minutes at each point for four consecutive days, once a day. Evaluation was carried out on the level of pain, sleep quality, and post-operative wound conditions. The results of the intervention showed a decrease in pain from a scale of 5 to 2. The surgical wound remained clean, dry, and showed no signs of infection. The conclusion obtained was that the acupressure technique was proven effective as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce pain, improve sleep quality, and accelerate the recovery of post-CS mothers. This therapy is recommended as part of evidence-based practice nursing care.
