    Abstract

    Pada kenyataannya, realitas improvisasi jazz merupakan serangkaian kompleks atas pengetahuan, pengalaman dan pertimbangan musikal yang diwujudkan melalui komposisi musik secara instan dalam aktivitas bermusik jazz. Maka, keahlian improvisasi dapat memberikan implikasi pada kebutuhan-kebutuhan diluar aktivitas bernusik jazz. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun suatu konstruksi berkenaan dengan keahlian improvisasi jazz yang diperoleh melalui penggalian pengalaman belajar, pertimbangan musikal dan implikasi dari keahlian tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 3 (tiga) pengajar musik jazz di Venche Music School (VMS) dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan mencakup Open Coding, Axial Coding dan Selective Coding. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa keahlian improvisasi diperoleh secara otodidak, ditambahkan peranan pendidikan informal dan pendidikan non formal, pertimbangan musikal dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal improvisator itu sendiri sehingga mewujudkan bahasa musik jazz dan terimplikasikan pada produk pembelajaran berupa kurikulum pembelajaran jazz dan karier profesional di bidang musik. Maka temuan-temuan tersebut dikategorisasi sehingga terbentuk suatu konstruksi keahlian improvisasi jazz melalui transmisi antara pembelajaran non formal dan informal agar dapat ditransmisikan pada pembelajaran formal. In fact, the reality of jazz improvisation is a complex set of knowledge, experience and musical considerations that are realized through instant musical composition in jazz musical activities. Thus, improvisation skills can have implications for needs outside of jazz music activities. This research aims to build a construction regarding jazz improvisation skills obtained through exploring learning experiences, musical considerations and the implications of these skills. This research was conducted with 3 (three) jazz music teachers at Venche Music School (VMS) with data collection methods through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include Open Coding, Axial Coding and Selective Coding. The results showed that improvisation skills are obtained by self-taught, the role of informal education and non-formal education is added, musical considerations are influenced by internal factors and external factors of the improviser itself so as to realize the language of jazz music and implied in learning products in the form of jazz learning curriculum and professional careers in music. Then the findings are categorized so that a construction of jazz improvisation skills through transmission between non-formal and informal learning can be transmitted to formal learning.
