Abstract
Secara umum tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan bukti empirik mengenai sejauh mana hubungan antara koleksi perpustakaan dengan motivasi siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar di SMA Negeri 6 Bandung. Secara khusus penelitan ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis hubungan antara jumlah koleksi perpustakaan dengan motivasi siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar di SMA Negeri 6 Bandung; 2) Mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis hubungan antara keragaman jenis koleksi perpustakaan dengan motivasi siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar di SMA Negeri 6 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara penyebaran angket dan metode dokumentasi. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 77 siswa. Pengolahan data menggunakan bantuan SPSS versi 15.0. Data diolah dengan menggunakan rumus uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa: 1) terdapat hubungan antara koleksi perpustakaan dengan motivasi siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,605 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori kuat; 2) terdapat hubungan antara jumlah koleksi perpustakaan dengan motivasi siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,527 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori sedang; 3) terdapat hubungan antara keragaman jenis koleksi perpustakaan dengan motivasi siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sumber belajar dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,640 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori kuat. Sekolah sebagai penyelenggara perpustakaan, perlu melakukan kegiatan pengembangan koleksi dari waktu ke waktu dengan tujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna. Kata kunci: Koleksi Perpustakaan, Jumlah Koleksi, Keragaman Jenis Koleksi, dan Motivasi. In general, the objectives of this research is to find empirical evidence regarding the extent to which the relationship between library collections with the motivation of students in the use of the school library as a learning resource in SMAN 6 Bandung. The research method used was a descriptive correlational research methods with quantitative approaches and techniques of data collection by questionnaire and methods of documentation. The total sample of 77 students. Processing data using SPSS version 15.0. The data were processed using Spearman Rank correlation test formula. Based on the research, it can be concluded that: 1) there is a relationship between library collections with the motivation of students in the use of the school library as a learning resource with a correlation coefficient of 0.605 which fall into the category of strong; 2) there is a relationship between the number of library collections with the motivation of students in the use of the school library as a learning resource with a correlation coefficient of 0.527 which fall into the category of being; 3) there is a relationship between the diversity type of library collections with the motivation of students in the use of the school library as a learning resource with a correlation coefficient of 0.640 which is included in the strong category. School as a library organizer, collection development activities need to be done from time to time with the aim to meet the needs of the users.
