Abstract
Pendidikan merupakan proses yang bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, karakter, dan pengelolaan emosi individu secara optimal. Meta-emosi yaitu emosi yang dimiliki seseorang tentang emosinya sendiri, seperangkat emosi dan pemahaman yang terorganisir dan terstruktur mengenai emosi diri sendiri dan emosi orang lain, menjadi aspek penting dalam mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis dan kemampuan adaptasi mahasiswa. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan lemahnya kemampuan pembinaan emosi mahasiswa di Indonesia, yang berdampak pada stres, isolasi diri, hingga kegagalan akademik. Meta-emosi berperan penting dalam membantu mahasiswa mengelola emosi, meningkatkan komunikasi emosi, serta mencegah perilaku maladaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan meta-emosi mahasiswa S1 Bimbingan dan Konseling Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan kuantitatif deskriptif menggunakan teknik survey, dan pengambilan sampel dengan teknik simple random sampling. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 199 orang mahasiswa Bimbingan dan Konseling Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia angkatan 20202023. Hasil Penelitian mengungkap profil meta-emosi mahasiswa secara umum sebagian besar berada pada kategori meta-emosi negatif. Mahasiswa yang berada pada kategori meta-emosi negative cenderung kurang memahami dan menyadari emosi yang dirasakan, kebingungan dalam mengendalikan emosi diri, kesulitan mengekspresikan dan mengkomunikasikan emosi yang dialami. Buku saku meta-emosi dirancang sebagai media program bimbingan dan konseling di Perguruan Tinggi untuk membantu mahasiswa belajar meningkatkan meta-emosi secara efektif dan fleksibel. Education is a process aimed at enhancing individuals' knowledge, skills, character, and emotional management optimally. Meta-emotion, defined as the emotions one has about their own emotions—a set of organized and structured emotions and understandings regarding one's own and others' emotions—is a crucial aspect in supporting psychological well-being and students' adaptability. Previous studies have shown weak emotional regulation abilities among university students in Indonesia, leading to stress, isolation, and academic failure. Metaemotion plays a significant role in helping students manage emotions, improve emotional communication, and prevent maladaptive behaviors. This study aims to describe the meta-emotion profile of undergraduate students in the Guidance and Counseling program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. A quantitative descriptive method was employed using a survey technique, with sample selection through simple random sampling. The participants included 199 students from the Guidance and Counseling Department, Faculty of Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, from the 2020–2023 cohorts. The study results revealed that the majority of students fell into the negative meta-emotion category. Students in this category tended to lack awareness and understanding of their emotions, struggled to control their emotions, and faced difficulties in expressing and communicating their emotional experiences. A meta-emotion handbook was designed as a medium for university guidance and counseling programs to help students learn to enhance their meta-emotions effectively and flexibly.
