Abstract
Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap komitmen organisasi. Objek penelitian ini adalah SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung. Kualitas kerja guru di sekolah merupakan salah satu indikasi dari adanya komitmen guru terhadap sekolah dalam mewujudkan pencapaian organisasi. Salah satu faktor adanya komitmen organisasi pada guru adalah kepemimpinan kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode sampel menggunakan probability random sampling dengan populasi adalah seluruh guru di SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung sebanyak 145 guru dengan sampel berjumlah 70 guru. Hasil perhitungan kecenderungan umum dengan menggunakan Weight Means Score (WMS), menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah di SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung mendapat skor rata-rata sangat tinggi dan komitmen organisasi dengan kategori yang sangat tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis dapat diterima dengan hasil uji koefisien determinasi yaitu bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah bepengaruh terhadap komitmen organisasi di SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung sebesar 6% sementara 94% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah bukan merupakan satu-satunya faktor yang berpengaruh pada komitmen organisasi, Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dengan komitmen organisasi di SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung. Adapun saran dari penelitian ini yaitu bagi kepala sekolah agar dapat meningkatkan kinerjanya dalam memimpin dan untuk guru agar dapat meningkatkan komitmen yang dimiliki untuk organisasi. This research analyzes the influence of transformational leadership towards organizational commitment. The objects of the research are public junior high schools in Sukasari District of Bandung. Teachers’ performance quality at school is an indication that shows teachers’ commitment towards the school they are in charge of in order to achieve organization’s goals. One of the factors of teachers’ organizational commitment is principal leadership. This research used descriptive method with quantitative approach. The sample method applied in this study was probability random sampling. The population in this research was teachers in public junior high schools in Sukasari District of Bandung as many as 145 teachers with the sample of 70 teachers. The result of general tendency calculated with Weight Means Score (WMS) shows that transformational leadership of principal in public junior high schools in Sukasari District of Bandung obtains very high average score and very high category of organizational commitment. The result of the research shows that the hypothesis can be accepted with R2 test that transformational principal leadership is influential towards organizational commitment in public junior high schools in Sukasari District of Bandung for 6%, while the rest of the result (94%) is affected by other factors. This result indicates that transformational leadership of principal is not the only influential factor towards the organizational commitment. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the transformational leadership of principal positively and significantly affect to the organizational commitment in public junior high schools in Sukasari District of Bandung. As for the suggestion from this research is the principals are expected to improve the quality of performance in carrying out their roles as leader and for the teachers are also expected to improve their commitment towards the organization.
