    Abstract

    Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan guna mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada konsep bangun ruang kelas V SD Negeri Rangkapanjaya. Rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa di sekolah dasar menjadi hal yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan tersebut adalah pendekatan pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan mendorong mereka untuk mengonstruksi pengetahuan secara mandiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan kuasi-eksperimen sebagai metode penelitiannya. Sampel terdiri dari 56 siswa kelas V SDN Rangkapanjaya yang terbagi dalam dua kelas yaitu kelas V-A sebagai kelas kontrol dan V-B sebagai kelas eksperimen. Data yang diperoleh berasal dari dilakukannya pre-test dan post-test pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education pada materi bangun ruang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa secara signifikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji N-Gain yang menunjukkan besar persentase keefektifan RME mencapai di angka 69,36% dan juga hasil uji cohen’s d menunjukan angka 1,264 yang mengindikasikan bahwa RME memberikan pengaruh yang cukup besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada materi bangun ruang. This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the concept of three-dimensional geometry in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Rangkapanjaya. The low level of students' mathematical reasoning abilities in elementary school is the background of this research. One of the factors contributing to this issue is the teacher-centered learning approach, which limits student engagement and active participation. Therefore, an instructional strategy that enhances student involvement and encourages them to construct their own knowledge is necessary. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The sample consists of 56 fifth-grade students at SDN Rangkapanjaya, divided into two classes: class V-A as the control group and class V-B as the experimental group. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests administered to both groups. The results indicate that the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach in teaching three-dimensional geometry significantly improves students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The research results show that the use of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in geometry significantly enhances students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This is evidenced by the N-Gain test results, which indicate an effectiveness percentage of 69.36%, and the Cohen’s d test results, which show a value of 1.264, indicating that RME has a substantial impact on improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities in geometry.
