Abstract
Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV dengan jumlah 34 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 16 orang siswa laki-laki dan 18 siswa perempuan. Pemilihan subjek penelitian berdasarkan purposive sampling. Pengambilan data diperoleh melalui tes yang dilakukan sebanyak dua kali, yaitu pretest kemudian diberikan perlakuan (treatment) dan posttest dengan instrumen tes tervalidasi untuk melihat kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang kemudian diolah dan dianalisis untuk menarik kesimpulan serta angket guru untuk melihat persepsi guru tentang penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada representasi visual mencapai 65,2%, representasi persamaan atau ekspresi matematis mencapai 43,5% dan representasi kata-kata atau teks tertulis mencapai 41,2%. Siswa kelas IV lebih baik dalam representasi visual namun masih belum maksimal dalam representasi kata-kata atau teks tertulis. Berdasarkan gender, siswa laki-laki mencapai rata-rata 0,61 dan siswa perempuan mencapai 0,44. Siswa laki-laki lebih baik dalam representasi visual dan siswa perempuan lebih baik dalam representasi kata-kata atau teks tertulis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis pecahan campuran terhadap siswa laki-laki lebih cepat menerima materi karena siswa laki-laki lebih memperhatikan materi saat belajar sehingga lebih cepat memahami sedangkan siswa perempuan lebih banyak bermain. Perbedaan tersebut disebabkan faktor internal kesadaran diri atas betapa pentingnya belajar untuk mengembangkan dirinya untuk bekal menjalani kehidupan dan faktor eksternal berupa rangsangan dari orang lain.

The study used quantitative methods. The sample in this study were 34 fourth grade students consisting of 16 male students and 18 female students. The selection of research subjects was based on purposive sampling. Data collection was obtained through tests conducted twice, namely pretest then given treatment and posttest with validated test instruments to see students' mathematical representation abilities which were then processed and analyzed to draw conclusions and teacher questionnaires to see teachers' perceptions of this study. The results showed that the average value of students' mathematical representation abilities in visual representation reached 65.2%, representation of mathematical equations or expressions reached 43.5% and representation of words or written text reached 41.2%. Fourth grade students were better at visual representation but were still not optimal in representation of words or written text. Based on gender, male students achieved an average of 0.61 and female students reached 0.44. Male students were better at visual representation and female students were better at representation of words or written text. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical representation ability of mixed fractions for male students is faster to receive the material because male students pay more attention to the material when studying so they understand it faster while female students play more. The difference is caused by internal factors of self-awareness of how important it is to learn to develop themselves as provisions for living life and external factors in the form of stimulation from others.
