Abstract
Matematika sebagai salah satu mata pelajaran yang diajarkan di Sekolah Dasar. Pelajaran matematika ini mempunyai posisi yang sangat penting, sebab dapat memberikan bekal kemampuan bernalar. Namun masih banyak kendala yang dihadapi dalam upaya merealisasikan tujuan pembelajaran diatas, khususnya di SDN 7 Cibogo. Salah satu yang menjadi kendala adalah metode pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru tanpa melibatkan siswa, sehingga tidak menarik minat siswa untuk belajar, yang akhirnya mengakibatkan siswa merasa jenuh. Hal ini akan terus berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar yang dicapai siswa sehingga banyak siswa yang mendapatkan nilai dibawah KKM. Beranjak dari permasalahan tersebut, peneliti memilih salah satu materi dalam pelajaran matematika yang sulit dipahami siswa yaitu dalam memahami konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Pada kesempatan ini peneliti menggunakan kancing bermuatan untuk memudahkan anak dalam memahami konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat yang dituangkan kedalam PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) dengan mengangkat judul skripsi: Penggunaan Media Kancing Bermuatan Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Penjumlahan Dan Pengurangan Bilangan Bulat Pada Siswa Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan perencanaan penggunaan media kancing bermuatan dalam pembelajaran matematika tentang konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat; (2) mendeskripsikan proses penggunaan media kancing bermuatan dalam pembelajaran matematika tentang konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat; dan (3) mendeskripsikan peningkatan pemahaman konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat pada siswa kelas IV di SDN 7 Cibogo dengan menggunakan media kancing bermuatan. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini, dari siklus I sampai siklus II mengalami peningkatan pemahaman siswa yang dilihat dari nilai yang diperoleh pada tiap siklus. Siswa senang dan tertarik dengan media pembelajaran yang digunakan. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media kancing bermuatan sangat membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat di kelas IV SDN 7 Cibogo. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan yang didapat dari penelitian ini, maka direkomendasikan kepada para guru untuk mulai menggunakan Mathematics is one of the subjects taught in Elementary School. Mathematics has an important position because it can give the provision of reasoning ability. However, there are still a lot of obstacles that have to be faced in order to realize the learning purpose above, especially in SDN 7 Cibogo. One of the obstacles that have to be faced is learning method which is still centered on the teacher without involving students, so that the students are not interested to study, which is eventually resulted to the students’ saturation. This obstacle will influence the learning achievement of the student so that a lot of students will get low score (under KKM). Moving from the obstacle, the researcher choose one of materials in mathematics which is difficult to understand by the student namely in the understanding of the concept of addition and subtraction of the integers. On this occasion, the researcher uses charged-buttons to facilitate the students in understanding the concept of addition and subtraction of the integers as outlined in CAR (Classroom Action Research) by lifting the title of the thesis: “The Use of Charged-Buttons to Increase the Understanding of the Concept of Addition and Subtraction of the Integers in Fourth Graders in Elementary School”. This study is aimed to: (1) describing plan of the use of the charged-buttons media in learning mathematics about the concept of addition and subtraction of the integers; (2) describe the process of using the charged-buttons media in learning mathematics about the concept of addition and subtraction of the integers; and (3) describe the increasing of the understanding concept of addition and subtraction of the integers in the fourth grader in SDN 7 Cibogo by using charged-buttons media. The result of the study is from cycle I until cycle II there is an enhancement of the students’ understanding which is seen from the grade they have got in every cycle. The students are happy and interested to the used learning media. The researcher concludes that the use of charged-buttons media is very helpful to the students for increasing the understanding of the concept of addition and subtraction of the integers in the fourth graders in SDN 7 Cibogo. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommends the teachers to use the learning media to increase the understanding of the concept of addition and subtraction of the integers.
