Abstract

Prestasi akademik mencerminkan keberhasilan belajar dan kualitas pendidikan, yang dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan intelektual serta kepribadian individu. Penelitian mengkaji kontribusi kepribadian peserta didik berprestasi di SMAN 1 Garut berdasarkan Big Five Personality Traits: openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, dan neuroticism. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel 214 peserta didik berprestasi, penelitian menemukan hanya tipe kepribadian Openness to Experience yang berkontribusi positif secara signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik. Sebaliknya, tipe kepribadian Agreeableness dan Extraversion menunjukkan hubungan negatif yang signifikan, sementara Conscientiousness dan Neuroticism tidak signifikan. Hasil penelitian diharapkan membantu guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam merancang program untuk mendukung potensi akademik siswa.

Academic achievement reflects the success of learning and the quality of education, which is influenced by intellectual ability and individual personality. The study examined the personality contribution of outstanding students at SMAN 1 Garut based on the Big Five Personality Traits: openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. The study used descriptive quantitative method with a sample of 214 high-achieving students, the study found that only the Openness to Experience personality type contributed significantly positively to academic achievement. In contrast, the personality types of Agreeableness and Extraversion showed a significant negative relationship, while Conscientiousness and Neuroticism were not significant. The results of the study are expected to help guidance and counseling teachers in designing programs to support students' academic potential.
