Abstract
: The background of this study is the low self-confidence of students in history subjects. The lack of variety in learning methods carried out by teachers results in a lack of student involvement in the classroom. This study uses a quasi experimental method and is conducted on a sample of students in grade XI of SMAN 9 Bandung. The research design used is a nonequivalent control group design. The data was collected using a questionnaire of the level of student self-confidence. The data was analyzed by normality and homogeneity prerequisite tests, as well as independent t tests to determine the difference in students' self confidence levels. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the level of self-confidence between the students in the experimental class and the control class in each aspect (confidence in self-ability, optimism, objectivity, responsibility, and rationality and realism).
