Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan model bimbingan psikologis untuk mengembangkan toleransi mahasiswa. Model bimbingan psikologis dikembangkan berlandaskan filsafat empirisme dan berdasarkan teori trait Gordon Allport. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yakni research and development (R&D) dengan empat langkah utama yakni (1) Studi pendahuluan; (2) Perumusan model bimbingan psikologis; (3) validasi rasional model; dan (4) validasi empirik model. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen toleransi. Analisis data menggunakan uji analisis covarian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Profil toleransi mahasiswa menunjukkan berada di kategori dingin pada indikator pengetahuan keragaman, pemahaman terhadap perbedaan, berfikir fleksibel, bertahan pada yang tidak disukai, sikap menghormati, penghargaan terhadap keragaman dan perbedaan, penerimaan terhadap keragaman dan perbedaan, pengakuan kemanusiaan, perlakuan sama tanpa membedakan, pemilahan tindakan, terjalin keharmonisan di tengah keragaman perbedaan, pengaktifan hubungan sosial dalam keragaman, dan bertindak manusiawi; (2) Melalui uji rasional dan uji empirik dihasilkan model bimbingan psikologis untuk mengembangkan toleransi mahasiswa yang terdiri dari komponen Definisi, Rasional, Tujuan, Sasaran, Peran pembimbing, Proses utama, Tahapan, Langkah-langkah, Metode, Prosedur pelaksanaan, dan Evaluasi; (3) Model bimbingan psikologis melalui uji analisis covarian menunjukkan bahwa variabel kelas ekpserimen dan kontrol secara signifikan memengaruhi tingkat toleransi, bahkan setelah mempertimbangkan pengaruh program studi sebagai kovariat yang mengindikasikan bahwa perbedaan toleransi antar kelompok dalam kelas tidak semata-mata dipengaruhi oleh program studi tetapi juga benar-benar dipengaruhi oleh perlakuan atau kondisi dalam kelas. Berdasarkan kriteria Cohen model bimbingan psikologis memiliki effect size besar (large effect size) yang menunjukkan bahwa model bimbingan psikologis efektif dalam mengembangkan toleransi mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan keilmuan bimbingan dan konseling, serta memberikan kesempatan untuk mengeksplorasi model bimbingan psikologis dalam skala lebih luas untuk mengembangkan toleransi mahasiswa. This research aims to produce a model of psychological guidance to develop students' tolerance. The psychological guidance model was developed based on the philosophy of empiricism and based on Gordon Allport's trait theory. The method used in the research is research and development (R&D) with four main steps, namely (1) preliminary study; (2) formulation of psychological guidance model; (3) rational validation of the model; and (4) empirical validation of the model. Data collection using tolerance instruments. Data analysis using covariance analysis test. The results showed: (1) The tolerance profile of students shows that they are in the cold category on indicators of knowledge of diversity, understanding of differences, flexible thinking, sticking to what they don't like, respect, appreciation of diversity and differences, acceptance of diversity and differences, recognition of humanity, equal treatment without differentiating, sorting out actions, establishing harmony in the midst of diversity of differences, activating social relations in diversity, and acting humanely; (2) Through rational test and empirical test, a psychological guidance model is produced to develop students' tolerance which consists of the components of Definition, Rationale, Objectives, Goals, Supervisor's role, Main process, Stages, Steps, Methods, Implementation procedures, and Evaluation; (3) The psychological guidance model through the covariance analysis test shows that the experimental and control class variables significantly affect the level of tolerance, even after considering the effect of the study program as a covariate which indicates that differences in tolerance between groups in the class are not solely influenced by the study program but are also truly influenced by treatment or conditions in the classroom. Based on Cohen's criteria, the psychological guidance model has a large effect size, which indicates that the psychological guidance model is effective in developing student tolerance. The results of this study contribute to the scientific development of guidance and counseling, and provide an opportunity to explore psychological guidance models on a wider scale to develop student tolerance.
