Abstract

Membaca pemahaman adalah kegiatan yang dilakukan setelah seseorang memiliki pengalaman membaca sebelumnya, dengan tujuan mendapatkan pengetahuan baru dan memahami makna dalam teks. Kegiatan ini memerlukan kemampuan memahami isi bacaan, yang sering dianggap sebagai salah satu aspek pembelajaran paling sulit. Hal ini membuat banyak siswa merasa kesulitan dalam membaca. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa sekolah dasar, yang juga terkait dengan rendahnya motivasi baca mereka. Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh penerapan model SQ3R yang didukung media komik Webtoon terhadap kemampuan membaca siswa kelas V serta membandingkan hasilnya dengan model kooperatif. Dengan desain kuasi eksperimen, subjek penelitian terdiri dari 50 siswa. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa model SQ3R berbantuan Webtoon meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa sebesar 58,5%, sementara model kooperatif kurang efektif. Peneliti merekomendasikan fokus pada pengembangan indikator pemahaman evaluasi dalam penelitian mendatang.

Reading comprehension is an activity undertaken after someone has prior reading experience, aimed at acquiring new knowledge and understanding the meaning within the text. This activity requires the ability to comprehend the content of the text, which is often considered one of the most challenging aspects of learning. As a result, many students struggle with reading. This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of elementary school students, also linked to their low reading motivation. The study aims to evaluate the impact of implementing the SQ3R model supported by Webtoon comic media on the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students and compare the results with cooperative models. Using a quasi-experimental design, the study involved 50 students. The findings show that the SQ3R model with Webtoon support improved students' reading skills by 58.5%, while the cooperative model was less effective. The researchers recommend focusing on developing evaluation comprehension indicators in future studies.
