Abstract
Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Namun, beberapa penelitian menyebutkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis di Indonesia masih terbilang rendah. Salah satu untuk mengatasi hal tersebut yaitu dengan menerapkan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) ke dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan pengaruh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar pada mata pelajaran IPA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar di SDN 1 Nagrikidul Kabupaten Purwakarta yang berjumlah 20 siswa di kelas eksperimen dan 20 siswa di kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sample dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrument yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrument tes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan non tes berupa aktivitas siswa pada saat pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian diperoleh menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran STEAM dengan N-Gain score sebesar 0,43 dan 47,5% pengaruh pembelajaran STEAM terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, pendekatan STEAM dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar.

Critical thinking skills are one of the skills that students must have. However, several studies state that critical thinking skills in Indonesia are still relatively low. One way to overcome this is by applying the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach to the learning process. This research aims to determine the improvement and influence of learning using the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach on elementary school students' critical thinking skills in science subjects. This type of research is quantitative research using quasi-experimental methods. The population in this study were fourth grade elementary school students at SDN 1 Nagrikidul, Purwakarta Regency, totaling 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this research were critical thinking skills test instruments and non-tests in the form of student activities during learning. The research results obtained showed an increase in critical thinking skills in students who used STEAM learning with an N-Gain score of 0.43 and 47.5% of the influence of STEAM learning on students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of this research, the STEAM approach can be applied to improve elementary school students' critical thinking skills.
