Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami dan menerapkan operasi hitung perkalian melalui pendekatan keterampilan proses. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan selama 3 siklus, setiap siklus melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data melalui tes, lembar observasi dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan siswa dalam memahami dan menerapkan mengalami peningkatan setelah menerapan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan keterampilan proses. Pada siklus I skor rata-rata siswa mencapai 70,78, pada siklus II dengan skor rata-rata 80,04 dan pada siklus III menjadi 93,12. Perencanaan yang sesuai dengan langkah-langkah keterampilan proses selain dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa juga dapat meningkatkan aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Pendekatan keterampilan proses bisa dijadikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa baik pada pelajaran matematika ataupun pelajaran lainnya. Kata kunci : kemampuan siswa, operasi hitung perkalian, pendekatan keterampilan proses,   Abstract: The Effort To Improve Student’s Skills In Mathematical Operations Of Multiplication Througth Process Skills Approach The aim of this research is knowing the improvement students skills in understanding and applyng the arithmatic operations multiplication through process skills approach. This research design is a classroom action research which was conducted in 3 cycles and each cycle has 4 phases namely; planning, acting, observation and reflecting. The date were obtained through test, observation shet and interview. Based on the research findings, the student’s skill in comprehending and implementing the operation of multiplication has improved after process skill approach was applied. The average (mean) scores in each cycle,namely,, cycle I, cycle II and cyle III were 70,78, 80,84 and 93,12. The lesson plan which was appropriate with the stages of process skills could improve student’s skill in solving multiplication problems. Additionally, it could motivate techer and students to do teaching and learning activity. Finally, process skill approach can be used as an alternative way to improve student’s skill in learning mathematics and the other subject.
