Maharajni Budiman, - (2024) PENGARUH ROMANTIC BELIEF DAN EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCY TERHADAP TOLERANCE OF ABUSE PADA KORBAN KEKERASAN DALAM PACARAN DI JAWA BARAT. S1 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
Early adulthood is a time to explore in terms of love. Individuals can provide reciprocal influence in dating, both positive and negative. One negative reciprocity is violence in dating. This research aims to determine the influence of romantic belief and emotional dependency on tolerance of abuse among the victims of dating violence in West Java. This research used a quantitative method with 390 respondents. This research used non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were Romantic Belief Scale (RBS) to measure romantic belief, Partner Emotional Dependency Scale (PEDS) to measure emotional dependency, and Dating Violence Questionnaire-R for Victimization (DVQ-VR) to measure tolerance of abuse. The results of this study show that romantic belief does not have influence on tolerance of abuse. Meanwhile, emotional dependency has a significant positive influence on tolerance of abuse. The higher the emotional dependency of victims of dating violence in West Java, the higher it gets for victim’s tolerance of abuse. For further research, it is recommended to reach a larger population, not only represent one province in Indonesia, and ensure that respondents are not dominated by one gender.
