Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain didaktis PjBL berbasis ESD pada topik pembuatan kertas dari limbah jagung untuk mengembangkan literasi sains siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Mixed method Exploratory Sequential, dengan partisipan siswa SMA yaitu 20 siswa kelas 10 pada implementasi desain dan 9 siswa kelas 11 pada pengambilan data hambatan belajar. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari pedoman wawancara, rancangan desain pembelajaran, LKPD, dan soal literasi sains yang terdiri dari 14 butir soal berbentuk uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Hambatan belajar dikelompokkan dalam 12 tema yang dijadikan sebagai dasar dalam pengembangan desain pembelajaran; 2) Desain didaktis terdiri dari situasi didaktis berisi isu terkait dampak negatif limbah jagung terhadap lingkungan, antisipasi pendidik meliputi arahan untuk menganalisis dampak limbah jagung dan mengidentifikasi kandungan limbah jagung, dan prediksi respon siswa mencakup pemanfaatan limbah jagung, pembuatan kertas, dan hasil proyek melalui penerapan prinsip Green Chemistry dan berkelanjutan; 3) Hasil implementasi menunjukkan pada tahap merancang siswa dapat mengidentifikasi solusi dari permasalahan limbah jagung dan merancang tahapan proyek pembuatan kertas, pada tahap melaksanakan siswa dapat mengimplementasikan rancangan desain proyek pembuatan kertas serta menentukan langkah pembuangan limbah NaOH agar tidak mencemari lingkungan, dan pada tahap mengkomunikasikan siswa dapat menyampaikan kesimpulan hasil proyek pembuatan kertas dari limbah jagung serta menentukan prinsip Green Chemistry dan aspek SDGs yang diterapkan; dan 4) Kemampuan literasi sains siswa setelah implementasi desain didaktis menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 79,4 termasuk dalam kategori baik. This study aims to produce an ESD-based PjBL didactical design on the topic of making paper from corn waste to develop students' science literacy. The method used was Mixed method Exploratory Sequential, with high school student participants, namely 20 grade 10 students in the design implementation and 9 grade 11 students in the data collection of learning barriers. The instruments used consisted of interview guidelines, learning design design, LKPD, and science literacy questions consisting of 14 items in the form of descriptions. The results showed that 1) Learning barriers are grouped into 12 themes that serve as the basis for developing learning designs; 2) The didactic design consists of a didactic situation containing issues related to the negative impact of corn waste on the environment, educators' anticipation includes directions for analyzing the impact of corn waste and identifying the content of corn waste, and predictions of student responses include the utilization of corn waste, paper making, and project results through the application of Green Chemistry principles and sustainability; 3) The implementation results show that at the designing stage students can identify solutions to corn waste problems and design the stages of the papermaking project, at the carrying out stage students can implement the design of the papermaking project design and determine the NaOH waste disposal steps so as not to pollute the environment, and at the communicating stage students can convey the conclusion of the results of the papermaking project from corn waste and determine the Green Chemistry principles and aspects of the SDGs applied; and 4) Students' science literacy skills after the implementation of didactical design show an average score of 79.4 including in the good category.
