Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan menulis laporan teks nonfiksi berita peserta didik yang masih perlu perhatian. Sesuai dengan KD 4.7 “Menyajikan konsep-konsep yang saling berkaitan pada teks nonfiksi kedalam tulisan tangan sendiri”. Menulis teks nonfiksi berita merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik. Dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis laporan peserta didik dapat menggunakan metode yang tepat salah satunya adalah memirsa berita. Metode memirsa berita bertujuan untuk menyatukan pemahaman visual dan pemikiran kritis sehinga dengan memadukan keduanya mampu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh memirsa berita sebagai sumber menulis teks nonfiksi kelas V Sekolah Dasar sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pembelajaran menggunakan metode memirsa berita. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian one grup pretest-postest. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 24 siswa kelas V SD Negeri Cangkol 3 Kota Cirebon. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni observasi dan tes. Observasi dilakukan guna melihat keterlibatan siswa selama treatmen sedangkan tes dilakukan sebagai data analisis perhitungan. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan menulis teks nonfiksi setelah penerapan memirsa berita digunakan. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh adanya peningkatan yang signifikan hasil postest siswa serta dikuatkan pada hasil analisis uji paired sample t-test. This research is motivated by the need for students to improve their ability to write nonfiction news reports. According to KD 4.7, "Presenting interconnected concepts in nonfiction texts in one's own handwriting." Writing nonfiction news reports is one of the essential skills that students must possess. To enhance students' writing skills, they can use appropriate methods, such as reading news. The method of reading news aims to integrate visual understanding and critical thinking, thereby improving students' writing abilities. This study aims to determine the impact of reading news as a source for writing nonfiction texts for fifth-grade elementary school students before and after using the reading news method. This study uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-post test design. The sample consists of 24 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri Cangkol 3 in Cirebon. The data collection techniques used are observation and testing. Observation was conducted to observe student participation during the treatment, while testing was done to analyze the data. The data produced were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results of this study show a positive effect on the students' ability to write nonfiction texts after the application of the reading news method. This is evidenced by a significant increase in post test results and supported by the results of the paired sample t-test analysis.
