Abstract
Pada masa remaja, hubungan dengan teman sebaya memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan sosial. Komunikasi yang intens, rasa saling percaya, dan banyaknya waktu yang digunakan bersama teman sebaya dapat menciptakan kelekatan. Kelekatan teman sebaya menjadi salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kompetensi interpersonal remaja. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan data empirik mengenai hubungan antara kelekatan teman sebaya dengan kompetensi interpersonal remaja. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Menegah Pertama di Kota Bandung kepada 306 peserta didik kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu sampling jenuh. Instrumen penelitian didasarkan pada teori kelekatan teman sebaya Armsden & Greenberg (1987) dan kompetensi interpersonal Buhrmester (1988). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kelekatan teman sebaya peserta didik berada pada kategori kelekatan aman dengan persentase sebesar 97,39% dan tingkat kompetensi interpersonal peserta didik berada pada kategori kompeten dengan persentase sebesar 98,37%. Terdapat hubungan positif signifikan antara kelekatan teman sebaya dengan kompetensi interpersonal. Artinya, semakin tinggi kelekatan teman sebaya maka semakin tinggi kompetensi interpersonal peserta didik. Begitupun sebaliknya, semakin rendah kelekatan teman sebaya maka semakin rendah pula kompetensi interpersonal peserta didik. Meskipun demikian, layanan bimbingan dan konseling perlu diberikan kepada peserta didik yang termasuk dalam kategori kelekatan tidak aman dan tidak kompeten untuk mencapai perkembangan yang lebih optimal. In adolescence, peer relationships an important role in social life. Intense communication, mutual trust, and a lot of time spent with peers can build attachment. Peer attachment is one of the factors that influence adolescents interpersonal competence. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method that aims to produce empirical data on the relationship between peer attachment and adolescents interpersonal competence. The study was conducted at a Junior High School in Bandung City with 306 students in grade VIII in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sampling technique used is saturation sampling. The instrument in this study are based on the theories of peer attachment by Armsden & Greenberg (1987) and interpersonal competence by Buhrmester (1988). The results of the study show that the level of peer attachment of students is in the category of secure attachment with the percentage of 97.39% and the level of interpersonal competence of students is in the category of competent with the percentage of 98.37%. There is a significant positive relationship between peer attachment and interpersonal competence. This means that the higher the peer attachment, the higher the interpersonal competence of students. Likewise, the lower the peer attachment, the lower the interpersonal competence of students. However, guidance and counseling needs to be provided to students who fall into the insecure attachment and incompetent categories to achieve more optimal development.
