Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi yang berkembang saat ini menyebabkan anak di bawah umur berpotensi mengalami FOMO. FOMO memiliki dampak negatif, yaitu mengganggu perkembangan anak, menyebabkan kecemasan sosial bahkan gangguan psikologis lainnya. Namun jika ditangani dan diawasi dengan baik maka akan berdampak positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran FOMO pada siswa sekolah dasar dan merancang program bimbingan dan konseling untuk mereduksi FOMO pada siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dilakukan kepada siswa kelas VI SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung dengan 85 responden penelitian dengan sample jenuh serta menggunakan desain survey. Instrumen yang digunakan diadaptasi dari instrumen Online Fear of Missing Out milik Sette, dkk (2020). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa kelas VI SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung tidak terindikasi mengalami FOMO. Siswa memiliki skor yang rendah pada aspek need to belong, need for popularity, dan anxiety. Namun siswa memiliki skor tinggi pada aspek addiction. Dengan pemberian layanan bimbingan dan konseling, siswa yang terindikasi FOMO diharapkan dapat mereduksi Fear of Missing Out, dan siswa yang memiliki skor rendah diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam keterampilan bersosialisasi, membangun hubungan interpersonal yang baik, kemampuan dalam pemahaman diri sendiri, dan meningkatkan konsep diri. The current technological development has caused minors to potentially experience FOMO. FOMO has an impact on child development, such as social anxiety and even other psychological disorders. However, if handled and supervised properly, it will have a positive impact. This study aims to obtain an overview of FOMO in elementary school students and design a guidance and counseling program to reduce FOMO in students. This research using quantitative descriptive approach on 6th grade students of SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung with 85 research respondents using a survey design. The instrument was adapted from Sette, et al's Online Fear of Missing Out instrument (2020). The results showed that most of the 6th grade students of SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung did not experience FOMO. Students have low scores on aspects of need to belong, need for popularity, and anxiety. However, students have a high score on the addiction aspect. With the provision of guidance and counseling services, students who are indicated FOMO are expected to reduce Fear of Missing Out, and students who have low scores are expected to improve their ability to socialize skills, build good interpersonal relationships, ability to understand themselves, and improve self-concept.
