Abstract
Salah satu sikap yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa adalah kemandirian belajar. Melalui sikap mandiri belajar ini, diharapkan siswa dapat lebih bertanggungjawab terhadap proses dan hasil belajarnya. Namun pada realitasnya, kemandirian belajar siswa masih terbilang rendah. Padahal, sikap mandiri belajar berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap kemandirian belajar dan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi bencana alam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent pretest and posttest control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri yang berada di Kecamatan Tanjungsari, Kabupaten Sumedang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, terdapat pengaruh berupa kenaikan nilai pretest terhadap posttest, baik pada kelas eksperimen ataupun kelas kontrol. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil uji Wilcoxon dengan nilai signifikansi < 0,05. Namun, persentase kenaikan nilai tes pemahaman konsep pada kelas kontrol lebih tinggi daripada kelas eksperimen. Sedangkan untuk kemandirian belajar, persentase kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol, yaitu 90%. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan model pembelajaran RADEC tidak lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional berupa ceramah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas V pada materi bencana alam. Namun, sangat efektif guna memunculkan sikap kemandirian belajar pada siswa, jika dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. One of the attitudes that students must have is learning independence. Through this independent learning attitude, it is hoped that students can be more responsible for the process and results of their learning. However, in reality, students learning independence is still relatively low. In fact, an independent attitude to learning has a positive effect on student learning outcomes. This study aims to see how the use of the RADEC learning model affects students learning independence and concept understanding on the topic of natural disasters. The research method used is quasi experiment with non-equivalent pretest and posttest control group design. The sample in this study were fifth grade students in one of the public elementary schools located in Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency. The results showed that there was an effect in the form of an increase in pretest to posttest scores, both in the experimental and control classes. This can be seen from the Wilcoxon test results with a significance value <0.05. However, the percentage increase in concept understanding test scores in the control class was higher than the experimental class. As for learning independence, the percentage of experimental class is higher than the control class, which is 90%. Therefore, the use of the RADEC learning model is not better than conventional learning in the form of lectures to improve the concept understanding of grade V students on the topic of natural disasters. However, it is very effective in bringing out the attitude of learning independence in students, when compared to the control class.
