Abstract
Penelitian ini berfokus pada eksplorasi perilaku informasi ibu rumah tangga (IRT) di masa pasca pandemi. Pada konteks ini perilaku informasi dikerucutkan pada kegiatan membimbing anak mengerjakan pekerjaan rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola umum perilaku informasi, kondisi kemampuan literasi IRT, serta mengeksplorasi bagaimana IRT melakukan perilaku pencarian informasi dalam kegiatannya membimbing anak belajar di rumah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah IRT, para siswa anak dari ibu rumah tangga tersebut, dan guru sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertempat di Dusun Cikembang RT. 02 RW. 13 Desa Selamanik Kec. Cipaku Kab. Ciamis. Deskripsi hasi penelitian berupa: (1) pola umum perilaku informasi yang dapat dirangkum menjadi kesadaran atas tugas membimbing anak, kebutuhan informasi, usaha memenuhi informasi, dan hasil luaran, pola umum ini sesuai dengan model sense-making yang digunakan untuk tugas-tugas sehari-hari; (2) kondisi kemampuan literasi IRT dapat dikatakan telah mampu pada tahap tertentu, pada tahap awal ibu dapat secara konsisten membuat kata kunci, memasukkan entri, menavigasi berbagai sumber dan bentuk media informasi, tetapi ibu belum dapat secara konsisten mengevaluasi keandalan dan validitas baik informasi maupun sumbernya; (3) perilaku pencarian informasi IRT dapat dideskripsikan dalam tahap-tahap mengidentifikasi tugas, mengidentifikasi materi pelajaran, pengambilan keputusan, pencarian informasi, evaluasi informasi, dan penggunaan informasi. Deskripsi ini mengimplikasikan bagaimana perilaku informasi IRT di Dusun Cikembang sudah konsisten pada tahap tertentu, sehingga selanjutnya diharapkan kemampuan literasi ibu rumah tangga di Dusun Cikembang dapat dikembangkan. This research focused on exploring the information behaviour of housewives in the post-pandemic time. In this context, the information behaviour was narrowed to studying at-home activity. This research aimed to understand the general pattern of housewives' information behaviour, the capability of housewives' literacy skills, and to explore how housewives do information seeking behaviour in helping their children do schoolwork. The method used in this research was the qualitative method with a case study approach. The subjects who participated in this research were housewives and their children-schooler, and an elementary school teacher. This research was conducted in Dusun Cikembang RT. 02 RW. 13 Desa Selamanik Kec. Cipaku Kab. Ciamis. The research findings are: (1) the general pattern of information behaviour could be summarised as the awareness to help children to study, information needs, the effort to fulfil information needs, and outcome, this general pattern matches with the sense-making model which widely used as a model for daily tasks; (2) the housewives are capable of information literacy skills up to some extent, on the beginning phase the housewives are capable to consistently use searching query, and navigate different information sources and form, but housewives have yet capable of evaluating the reliability and validity of both the information and the sources; (3) the information seeking of housewives could be described into identifying the task, identifying the subject, decision-making, information searching, evaluating information, dan using information. The findings imply how the information behaviour of housewives in Dusun Cikembang is already consistent to some extent, so it is hoped that the literacy skills of housewives in Dusun Cikembang can be developed.
