    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari fenomena kemampuan dua bahasa pada anak atau disebut
    kedwibahasaan. Kedwibahasaan memiliki banyak keunggulan yang dapat dimiliki oleh anak,
    namun beberapa penelitian mengatakan bahwa kedwibahasaan dapat menyebabkan pergeseran
    bahasa, misalnya bahasa daerah tergeser oleh bahasa Indonesia. Kampung Cibedug berlokasi di
    provinsi Jawa Barat yang masih sangat kaya akan kearifan lokal dari segi budaya maupun
    penggunaan bahasa Sunda. Sehingga dengan bahasa dan budaya Sunda yang sangat melekat
    kehidupan sehari-hari tersebut, serta fenomena kedwibahasaan yang memiliki keunggulan maupun
    ancaman terhadap bahasa daerah, tujuan peneliain ini ialah untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi
    orang tua terhadap kedwibahasaan pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
    kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah
    wawancara dengan 3 orang tua yang, kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik grounded theory. Hasil
    penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Anak memperoleh bahasa Sunda dari keluarga, dan lingkungan
    pergaulan (2) anak memperoleh bahasa Indonesia dari keluarga, YouTube dan interaksi di sekolah
    (3) perlunya porsi yang sama terhadap kemampuan bahasa sunda dan bahasa indonesia pada anak
    (4) peran orang tua dalam menyikapi anak lebih fasih bahasa indonesia daripada bahasa sunda (5)
    keunggulan kedwibahasaan bagi anak (6) harapan orang tua terhadap kedwibahasaan pada anak.

    This research is motivated by the phenomenon of bilingualism in children. Bilingualism offers
    many advantages for children; however, some studies suggest that bilingualism can lead to
    language shift, such as the displacement of local languages by the Indonesian language. Kampung
    Cibedug is located in West Java, a region rich in local wisdom, both in terms of culture and the
    use of the Sundanese language. Due to the strong presence of the Sundanese language and culture
    in daily life, combined with the potential benefits and threats of bilingualism to local languages,
    the purpose of this study is to explore parents' perceptions of bilingualism in early childhood. This
    research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted
    through interviews with three parents and analyzed using grounded theory techniques. The
    findings of the study indicate that (1) children acquire the Sundanese language from family and
    their social environment, (2) children acquire the Indonesian language from family, YouTube, and
    school interactions, (3) there is a need for a balanced development of both Sundanese and
    Indonesian language skills in children, (4) the role of parents in addressing the issue of children
    being more fluent in Indonesian than Sundanese, (5) the benefits of bilingualism for children, and
    (6) parents' expectations regarding bilingualism in their children.
