Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kegiatan pembelajaran praktik room service yang belum optimal karena peserta didik kurang antusias mengikuti proses pembelajaran praktik room service, hal ini disebabkan pemilihan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang mampu mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah menerapkan model pembelajaran simulation-based learning yang mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar teori sekaligus praktik dalam waktu yang sejalan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana hasil dari penerapan model pembelajaran simulation-based learning pada praktik room service di Edotel. Metode dan desain penelitian yaitu pra-experiment one group pre-test post-test yang mana membandingan tes awal sebelum melakukan perlakuan dan tes akhir setelah perlakuan pada satu kelas eksperimen. Pre-test dan post-test yang dilakukan berupa uji pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai pembelajaran praktik room service. Populasi dan sampel penelitian ini adalah total sampling yaitu peserta didik kelas XI Perhotelan 2. Temuan dan pembahasan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran simulation-based learning pada praktik room service memiliki pengaruh terhadap hasil pembelajaran praktik room service. Terdapat peningkatan rata-rata pada pre-test dan post-test. Hasil tersebut didukung dengan uji Wilcoxon dan uji N-Gain yang menyajikan data deskriptif dan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran simulation-based learning masuk dalam kategori sedang dan tinggi dengan tafsiran cukup efektif dan efektif. Rekomendasi penelitian ini diharapkan penelitian selanjutnya dapat melanjutkan penelitian seperti peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran simulation-based learning pada praktik room service atau pada mata pelajaran yang berbeda. This research is motivated by the learning activities of room service practices that are not optimal because students are less enthusiastic about participating in the learning process of room service practices, this is due to the selection of an inappropriate learning model. One of the learning models that can overcome these problems is implementing a simulation-based learning model that is able to provide theoretical and practical learning experiences at the same time. The purpose of this study was to determine how the results of the application of simulation-based learning models in room service practices at Edotel. The research method and design is a pre-experiment one group pre-test post-test which compares the initial test before treatment and the final test after treatment in one experimental class. Pre-test and post-test conducted in the form of knowledge and skills tests regarding room service practice learning. The findings and discussion in this study indicate that by applying the simulation-based learning model to room service practice has an influence on the learning outcomes of room service practice. There is an increase in the average pre-test and post-test. These results are supported by the Wilcoxon test and the N-Gain test which presents descriptive data and shows that the application of the simulation-based learning model falls into the medium and high categories with the interpretation of moderately effective and effective. The recommendation of this study is that further research is expected to continue research such as improving student learning outcomes by using simulation-based learning models in room service practices or in different subjects.
