Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang di mana peserta didik masih kesulitan dalam memahami soal sehingga berdampak pada proses penyelesaian soal, sehingga perlu adanya inovasi dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan RME berbantuan media puzzle terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis kelas II. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian non-equivalent control-group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik SDN yang terakreditasi A di Kecamatan Sumedang Selatan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sehingga terpilihlah SDN Sukaraja 1. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen soal pemecahan masalah matematis dan lembar observasi untuk mengetahui aktivitas peserta didik selama menerapkan pendekatan RME berbantuan media puzzle. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pendekatan RME berbantuan media puzzle memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sebesar 0,81. Begitu juga dengan pendekatan konvensional berbantuan media puzzle memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sebesar 0,34. Dalam hal ini terdapat perbedaan pengaruh pendekatan RME berbantuan media puzzle dengan pembelajaran konvensional berbantuan media puzzle terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. This research is based on the low ability to solve mathematical problems where students still have difficulty understanding the problems, which has an impact on the problem solving process, so there is a need for innovation in mathematics learning to improve mathematical problem solving abilities. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the RME approach assisted by puzzle media on class II mathematical problem solving abilities. This research is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control-group design type of research. The population in thias study was all A-accredited elementary schools in South Sumedang District using purposive sampling techniques, so that SDN Sukaraja 1 was chosen. The instruments used are mathematical problrm solving questions and observation sheets to determine students activities while implementing the RME approach with the help of puzzle media. Based on the research results, the RME approach assisted by puzzle media had apositive influence on the ability to solve mathematical problems by 0,81. Likewise, the conventional approach assisted by puzzle media has a positive influence on mathematical problem solving ability by 0,34. In this case, there is a difference in the influence of the RME approach assisted by puzzle media with conventional learning assisted bye puzzle media on the ability to solve mathematical problems.
