Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 1 Subang dengan subjek penelitian kelas 8E dan 8F dengan masing-masing kelas berjumlah 33 orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode outdoor study dalam pembelajaran IPS di Museum Subang terhadap Kesadaran Sejarah dan Cinta Tanah Air siswa SMPN 1 Subang antara kelas 8F sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas 8E sebagai kelas kontrol. Alasan dilakukannya penelitian ini dikarenakan guru di sekolah tersebut kurang kreatif dalam melaksanakan metode pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan sumber belajar yang ada salah satunya Museum Subang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi experiment Nonequivalent Control Group Design yaitu dengan adanya kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dipilih tanpa penempatan acak. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket (pre-test & post-test). Temuan penelitian ini: (1) Terdapat perbedaan hasil pre-test dan post-test Kesadaran Sejarah dan Cinta Tanah Air siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas eksperimen dengan metode Outdoor Study di Museum Subang. (2) Terdapat perbedaan hasil pre-test dan post-test Kesadaran Sejarah dan Cinta Tanah Air siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas kontrol dengan metode Simulasi di kelas. (3) Terdapat pengaruh signifikan Kesadaran Sejarah dan Cinta Tanah Air antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol di SMPN 1 Subang. Artinya, terdapat perbedaan hasil post-test antara kelas ekperimen dan kelas kontrol terhadap kesadaran sejarah dan cinta tanah air siswa yang signifikan. Hasil penelitian juga menegaskan bahwa metode Outdoor Study merupakan metode yang dapat berkontribusi lebih terhadap pembelajaran IPS sebagai pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna dengan mamanfaatkan sumber belajar seperti Museum Subang yang dapat memengaruhi kesadaran sejarah dan cinta tanah air. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Subang with the subjects being the 8E and 8F classes, each consisting of 33 students. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of the outdoor study method in social studies learning at the Subang Museum on the historical awareness and patriotism of the students at SMPN 1 Subang, comparing 8F as the experimental class and 8E as the control class. The reason for conducting this research was that the teachers at this school were not very creative in implementing learning methods by utilizing existing learning resources, such as the Subang Museum. The method used in this research was a quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design, where the experimental and control classes were selected without random placement. The data collection techniques used in this research were pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires. The findings of this research are: (1) There are differences in the pre-test and post-test results regarding the historical awareness and patriotism of the students in social studies learning in the experimental class using the outdoor study method at the Subang Museum. (2) There are differences in the pre-test and post-test results regarding the historical awareness and patriotism of the students in social studies learning in the control class using the simulation method in the classroom. (3) There are significant differences in historical awareness and patriotism between the experimental class and the control class at SMPN 1 Subang. This means that there is a significant difference in the post-test results between the experimental class and the control class regarding the students' historical awareness and patriotism. The findings of this research also confirm and answer that the outdoor study method is a method that can contribute more to social studies learning, making it more meaningful by utilizing learning resources such as the Subang Museum which can influence historical awareness and patriotism.
