Abstract
Determinasi diri penting bagi peserta didik karena setiap keputusan yang diambil dapat membentuk perilaku dan prestasi akademik. Terdapat kebutuhan dasar psikologis dalam determinasi diri yaitu kemandirian, kompetensi dan keterhubungan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui profil determinasi diri untuk digunakan sebagai dasar merancang bimbingan belajar guna mengembangkan determinasi diri peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian survei cross-sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu probability sampling dengan metode simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar determinasi diri peserta didik SMP Negeri 1 Lembang berada pada tingkatan integrated regulation yang berarti peserta didik sudah mampu membuat hirarki tujuan, tindakan, dan kebutuhan diri. Namun, masih terdapat 67 peserta didik yang berada pada tingkatan rendah seperti external regulation, introjected regulation dan identified regulation. Bimbingan belajar dalam penelitian direkomendasikan sebagai upaya untuk mengembangkan determinasi diri peserta didik. Self-determination is important for students because every decision made can shape behavior and academic achievement. There are basic psychological needs in self determination, namely independence, competence and relatedness. The purpose of the study was to determine the profile of self-determination to be used as a basis for designing educational guidance to develop students' self determination. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey research design. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with simple random sampling method. The results showed that most of the self determination of students of SMP Negeri 1 Lembang was at the integrated regulation level, which means that students have been able to create a hierarchy of goals, actions, and self-needs. However, there are still 67 students who are at low levels such as external regulation, introjected regulation and identified regulation. Educational guidance in research is recommended as an effort to develop student’s self-determination.
