Abstract

Dampak dari hambatan pendengaran yang dialami anak tunarungu salah satunya adalah kemampuan berbicara dan berkomunikasi secara lisan , sehingga anak tunarungu perlu mendapatkan pembelajaran artikulasi. Seperti pada IR anak tunarungu yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengucap konsonan bilabial /m/, pengucapan konsonan /m/ terjadi omisi/penghilangan dan subtitusi/penggantian dengan /p/, /b/. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengucap konsonan bilabial /m/ pada anak tunarungu dengan metode phonetik placement. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan subjek tunggal (SSR). Subjek penelitian ini adalah IR anak tunarungu kelas III SDLB di SLB Risantya Bandung. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini dengan tes lisan menggunakan kata-kata yang terdapat konsonan /m/ di awal, di tengah dan di akhir kata sebanyak 18 soal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian penerapan metode phonetik placement memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengucap konsonan bilabial /m/ pada IR, dengan mean level di tahap baseline 1 (A1) 33%, tahap intervensi (B) 66,6% dan tahap baseline 2 (A2) 86,3%. Maka disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode phonetik placement dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengucap konsonan bilabial /m/ pada IR. Peneliti merekomendasikan metode phonetik placement dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif metode yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran artikulasi khususnya pada anak tunarungu yang kasusnya sama dengan IR. The impact of the barriers experienced by children with hearing loss one of which is the ability to speak and communicate orally, so that deaf children need to get articulation learning. As the IR deaf children who have difficulty in bilabial consonants give / m /, the pronunciation of consonants / m / occurs omission / removal and substitution / replacement with / p /, / b /. The purpose of this research is to improve the ability give bilabial consonants / m / on a deaf child with phonetic placement method which application to use visual media in the form of a mirror. This study used an experimental method with a single subject (SSR). The subjects were children with hearing IR class III Risantya SLB in Bandung. Instrument in this study with the oral test using words contained consonant / m / at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the word as much as 18 questions. Based on the research results of the application of phonetic placement application method using a mirror vsiual media have a positive impact in improving the ability to give bilabial consonants / m / on IR, with mean baseline levels in stage 1 (A1) 33%, the intervention phase (B) 66.6 2% and baseline phase (A2) 86.3%. It was concluded that the application of phonetic placement method can improve the ability give bilabial consonants / m / on IR. Researchers recommend phonetic placement method can be one of the alternative methods used in the articulation of learning, especially in children with hearing the same case with the IR.
