Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh citra tubuh dan perbandingan penampilan fisik terhadap ketidakpuasan tubuh pada remaja putri di kota Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling, serta metode analisis regresi linear berganda dan one way ANOVA untuk uji beda. Penelitian ini melibatkan 373 responden remaja putri dengan rentang usia 12 - 21 tahun. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga instrumen yaitu Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire-Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) disusun oleh Cash & Prizinsky, dan diadaptasi oleh Fuad (2022), Physical Appearance Comparison Scale (PACS) yang disusun oleh Thomson pada tahun 1991, dan diadaptasi oleh Tanty (2015), dan skala Body Dissatisfaction Scale (BDS) yang dikembangkan oleh Tariq, dan Ijaz (2015), lalu diadaptasi oleh Fathiana (2019) . Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Citra Tubuh dan Perbandingan Penampilan Fisik berpengaruh terhadap Ketidakpuasan tubuh pada Remaja Putri di Kota Bandung; (2) Citra Tubuh berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap Ketidakpuasan dengan arah korelasi negatif; (3) Perbandingan Penampilan Fisik berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap Ketidakpuasan Tubuh dengan arah korelasi positif. This research aims to determine the influence of Body Image and Physical Appearance Comparison on Body Dissatisfaction in Young Women in Bandung City. The research use a quantitative approach with accidental sampling, and multiple linear regression analysis methods and one way ANOVA for difference test. This research involved 373 young female respondents with an age range 12 - 21 years. The instruments in this study used three instruments, namely the Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire-Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) compiled by Cash & Prizinsky, and adapted by Fuad (2022), Physical Appearance Comparison Scale (PACS) compiled by Thomson in 1991, and adapted by Tanty (2015), and Body Dissatisfaction Scale (BDS) developed by Tariq and Ijaz, then adapted by Fathiana (2019). The results of this research show that: (1) Body Image and Physical Appearance Comparison influence Body Dissatisfaction in Young Women in Bandung City; (2) Body Image has a significant effect on Body Dissatisfaction with a negative correlation; (3) Physical Appearance Comparison has a significant effect on Body Dissatisfaction with a positive correlation.
