    Abstract

    Penelitian ini berjudul “Eight: Eksplorasi Musik Minimalis Berbasis Soundscape
    untuk Gitar Elektrik dan Fixed Media dalam Karya Musik.” Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
    menganalisis dan mempresentasikan proses eksplorasi musik minimalis yang memadukan
    soundscape dengan permainan gitar elektrik dan penggunaan fixed media. Melalui
    penelitian ini, peneliti berusaha mengungkap bagaimana pola repetitif dalam aktivitas
    manusia sehari-hari dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam sebuah komposisi musik yang inovatif
    dan bagaimana konsep tersebut diinterpretasikan melalui pendekatan musik minimalis.
    Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Practice-Lead Research, di mana
    proses penciptaan karya menjadi pusat kajian untuk mengeksplorasi aspek teknis dan
    artistik. Tahapan penelitian meliputi eksplorasi soundscape, teknik permainan gitar
    elektrik, dan penggunaan perangkat lunak Ableton sebagai media dalam proses live looping
    serta manipulasi suara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan musik minimalis
    yang digabungkan dengan soundscape dan gitar elektrik berhasil menciptakan komposisi
    yang unik dan mendalam, merefleksikan konsep repetitif dari kehidupan sehari-hari. Proses
    revisi dan uji coba yang dilakukan dengan bimbingan dosen pembimbing juga
    berkontribusi dalam penyempurnaan karya ini, menghasilkan komposisi yang tidak hanya
    memenuhi standar artistik tetapi juga teknis. Hasil akhirnya, karya musik "Eight" tidak
    hanya berfungsi sebagai eksperimen artistik, tetapi juga sebagai manifestasi dari interaksi
    antara teknologi digital dan ekspresi musikal yang kontemporer.

    This research is titled “Exploration of Soundscape-Based Minimalist Music for
    Electric Guitar and Fixed Media in the Musical Work ‘Eight’.” This research aims to
    analyze and present the exploration process of minimalist music that combines soundscape
    with electric guitar playing and the use of fixed media. Through this research, the researcher
    seeks to reveal how repetitive patterns in daily human activities can be integrated into an
    innovative musical composition and how the concept is interpreted through a minimalist
    musical approach. The method used in this research is Practice-Led Research, where the
    process of creating works becomes the center of study to explore technical and artistic
    aspects. The research stages include soundscape exploration, electric guitar playing
    techniques, and the use of Ableton software as a medium in the process of live looping and
    sound manipulation. The results showed that the minimalist music approach combined with
    soundscape and electric guitar succeeded in creating a unique and profound composition,
    reflecting the repetitive concept of everyday life. The revision and testing process
    conducted with the guidance of the supervisor also contributed to the refinement of this
    work, resulting in a composition that not only meets artistic but also technical standards.
    Ultimately, the musical work “Eight” serves not only as an artistic experiment, but also as
    a manifestation of the interaction between digital technology and contemporary musical
    expression.
