Abstract

Skripsi ini berisi tentang penggarapan aransemen dalam mengadaptasi gaya bossa nova pada lagu kidung karya Chris Manusama menggunakan format ansambel campuran antara gitar dan string quintet. Lagu kidung merupakan lagu dengan
genre musik pop yang diciptakan oleh Chris Manusama dan dinobatkan sebagai lagu tembang terbaik sejak era LCLR Prambors tahun 1978. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses penggarapan aransemen bagaimana cara dalam mengadaptasi gaya bossa nova pada lagu Kidung dalam format ansambel campuran serta dampaknya bagi perkembangan musik ansambel. Metode yang diterapkan
pada penelitian ini metode penelitian artistik berbasis praktik, yaitu investigasi dalam upaya memperoleh pengetahuan baru dimana sebagian besar pengetahuan tersebut diperoleh berdasarkan praktik seni serta hasil dari praktik itu sendiri. Hasil temuan penelitian pada tahap eksplorasi menunjukan dalam pengolahan unsur musik pada lagu kidung yang dimodifikasi dari segi bentuk, struktur, melodi, ritmik, dan harmoni. Selain itu penggarapan ansambel campuran pada instrumen string dan gitar peneliti menemukan beberapa teknik dan artikulasi yang cocok pada garapan ini, misalnya terdapat col legno, pizzicato, mercato, tremolo, dan sebagainya. Data yang didapat pada penggarapan ini melalui observasi studi karya, partitur karya, latihan bersama, dokumentasi karya berupa simulasi audio, serta diskusi dengan pemain lain, semuanya dilakukan guna menyempurnakan karya garapan aransemen peneliti dan sebagai strategi dalam memahami karya aransemen tersebut.

This thesis contains about the arrangement process in adapting the bossa nova style in the Kidung song by Chris Manusama using a mixed ensemble format between guitar and string quintet. The Kidung song created by Chris Manusama is the best song since the LCLR Prambors era in 1978. The purpose of this study is to determine the arrangement process on how to adapt the bossa nova style in the Kidung song in a mixed ensemble format and its impact on the development of ensemble music. The method applied in this study is a practice-based artistic research method, namely an investigation in an effort to obtain new knowledge
where most of the knowledge is obtained based on art practices and the results of the practice itself. The results of the research findings at the exploration stage showed that in the processing of musical elements in the Kidung song which were modified in terms of form, structure, melody, rhythm, and harmony. In addition, the mixed ensemble work on string and guitar instruments, the researcher found several techniques and articulations that were suitable for this work, for example there were col legno, pizzicato, mercato, tremolo, and so on. The data obtained in this work through observation of study work, work scores, joint rehearsals, work
documentation in the form of audio simulations, and discussions with other players, all of which were carried out to perfect the researcher's arrangement work and as a strategy in understanding the arrangement work.
