Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran harga diri dalam memediasi hubungan gaya kelekatan terhadap ketakutan akan intimasi pada dewasa awal di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 368 responden (N=368) dengan rentang usia 18-29 tahun. Attachment Style Questionnaire (r=0.739), Fear-of-Intimacy Scale (r=0.884), dan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (r=0.838) digunakan untuk mengukur variabel penelitian. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa harga diri berperan signifikan dalam memediasi pengaruh tipe secure, preoccupied, dan fearful terhadap ketakutan akan intimasi, baik dengan efek mediasi penuh maupun parsial. Adapun, untuk pengaruh tipe dismissive terhadap ketakutan akan intimasi, harga diri dinilai tidak dapat memediasi hubungan tersebut secara signifikan. Kata Kunci: gaya kelekatan, ketakutan akan intimasi, harga diri, dan dewasa awal. The purpose of this study is to explore the role of self-esteem in mediating the influence of attachment style on fear of intimacy in emerging adulthood in Indonesia. The method used in the study was a quantitative method with a sample size of 368 respondents (N=368) from the age range of 18 to 29 years. The Attachment Style Questionnaire (r=0.739), Fear-of-Intimacy Scale (R=0.884), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (r =0.838) were used to measure the variables of the study. In general, results show that self-esteem plays a significant role in mediating the influence of the secure, preoccupied, and fearful attachment on fear of intimacy, with both full and partial mediation effects. Nevertheless, for the influence of the dismissive attachment on fear of intimacy, self-esteem is considered unable to mediate the relationship significantly.
