    Abstract

    ABSTRAK

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul materi sistem koloid bermuatan etnosains konteks pengolahan limbah batik yang layak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah DDE atau Design Development Evaluation dan metode pengembangan bahan ajar menggunakan Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4STMD). Tahap desain dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis dan merencanakan jenis bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dan menghasilkan rancangan bahan ajar. Tahap pengembangan modul menggunakan metode 4STMD yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu tahap seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi dan reduksi didaktik. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan melalui tahap uji coba kelayakan dan keterpahaman bahan ajar. Pada tahap desain diperoleh rancangan bahan ajar berupa modul bermuatan etnosains. Pada tahap seleksi diperoleh kesesuaian antara kompetensi dasar, indikator pencapaian kompetensi dan label konsep, penjelasan konsep dikaitkan dengan muatan etnosains berupa pengolahan limbah batik sebagai konteks substansi. Optimasi pengolahan limbah batik dilakukan dengan membandingkan keefektifan koagulan antara FeSO4 dengan tawas yang digunakan dalam menjernihkan air. Berdasarkan hasil optimasi, jenis koagulan yang efektif diantara keduanya adalah FeSO4. Tahap strukturisasi menghasilkan peta konsep, struktur makro, dan tiga level representasi. Tahap karakterisasi diperoleh 54 teks yang diujikan pada siswa kelas XI sebanyak 60 siswa di salah satu SMA Kota Cirebon dan menghasilkan 4 teks sulit yang direduksi pada tahap reduksi didaktik. Hasil draft modul dilakukan uji kelayakan yang melibatkan 2 guru kimia, 1 guru bahasa Indonesia. Hasil uji kelayakan menunjukkan bahwa modul sangat layak untuk digunakan dengan persentase rata-rata kelayakan sebesar 95,2%. Tahap akhir yaitu dilakukan uji keterpahaman menunjukkan hasil bahwa sebagian besar teks 92% mudah untuk dipahami siswa, sehingga bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki kategori Bahan Ajar Mandiri.

    ABSTRACT
    This study aims to produce a colloid system module enriched with ethnoscience, focusing on the context of batik waste treatment, which is suitable for use in education. The design phase involved analyzing and planning the type of learning material to be developed, resulting in a module design. The development phase utilized the 4STMD model, comprising four stages: selection, structuring, characterization, and didactic reduction. Evaluation was conducted through feasibility and comprehension tests. The design phase yielded an ethnoscience-based module design. The selection stage ensured alignment between basic competencies, competency achievement indicators, and conceptual labels. Conceptual explanations were linked to ethnoscience content, specifically the production and processing of batik waste as the substantive context. Optimization of batik waste processing was achieved by comparing the effectiveness of FeSO₄ and alum as coagulants for water clarification. Based on optimization results, FeSO₄ was determined to be the more effective coagulant. The structuring phase resulted in a concept map, macrostructure, and multiple level of representation. The characterization phase yielded 54 texts, which were tested on 60 eleventh-grade students in Cirebon. Four texts were identified as difficult and were subsequently reduced in the didactic reduction stage. The draft module underwent a feasibility test involving two chemistry teachers and one Indonesian language teacher. The results indicated that the module was highly suitable for use by the average of percent suitable is 95,2%. The final stage, a comprehension test, revealed that a majority of the texts 92% were easily understood by students, categorizing the developed teaching material as "self-directed."
