Abstract

Berpikir spasial menjadi identitas dalam aktivitas pembelajaran geografi, dalam implementasinya pembelajaran geografi hanya menekankan pada aspek kognitif, minimnya kemampuan analisis menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik. Kemampuan tersebut dapat membantu peserta didik dalam mengatasi masalah spasial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan, perbedaan dan pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning berbantu Google My Maps terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial. Metode yang digunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design melalui pendekatan kuantitatif, sampel kelas XI IPS B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPS D sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis, dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Keterlaksanaan model Project Based Learning berbantu Google My Maps disimpukan termasuk kategori sangat baik. 2) Kemampuan berpikir spasial kelas eksperimen antara nilai pretest dan posttest menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan, sedangkan kelas kontrol tidak signifikan hal tersebut dipengaruhi oleh media dan perlakuan yang berbeda. 3) Implementasi model Project Based Learning berbantu Google My Maps berpengaruh positif dibandingkan model Discovery Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik. Spatial thinking becomes an identity in geography learning activities, in its implementation geography learning only emphasizes on the cognitive aspect, the lack of analytical skills leads to low spatial thinking skills of students. These abilities can help students in overcoming spatial problems. This study aims to analyze the implementation, differences and influence of the Project Based Learning learning model assisted by Google My Maps on spatial thinking skills. The method used in the quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design was through a quantitative approach, with samples of class XI IPS B as the experimental class and class XI IPS D as the control class. The data analysis techniques used were normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis tests, and simple linear regression tests. The results of the study show that 1) The implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by Google My Maps is considered to be in the very good category. 2) The spatial thinking ability of the experimental class between the pretest and posttest scores showed a significant difference, while the control class was not significantly affected by different media and treatments. 3) The implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by Google My Maps has a positive effect compared to the Discovery Learning model in improving students' spatial thinking skills.
