Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang penerapan inquiry laboratory pada materi fotosintesis terhadap kemampuan inkuiri, literasi kuantitatif, dan penguasaan konsep peserta didik SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi experiment dengan populasi penelitian dibatasi pada peserta didik kelas XI IPA di salah satu sekolah menengah atas di Kabupaten Halmahera Utara pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah nonprobability sampling jenis sampling jenuh. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design. Terdapat dua kelompok penelitian yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dimana pembelajaran fotosintesis melalui inquiry laboratory pada kelas eksperimen dan praktikum verifikasi pada kelas kontrol. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah tes tertulis kemampuan inkuiri, literasi kuantitatif, dan penguasaan konsep. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, ditemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan kemampuan inkuiri, literasi kauntitatif, dan penguasaan konsep pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji effect menunjukkan bahwa inquiry laboratory berpengaruh kuat terhadap peningkatan kemampuan inkuiri, dan berpengaruh sedang terhadap peningkatan literasi kuantitatif dan penguasaan konsep peserta didik pada materi fotosintesis. This study aimed to obtain information about the implementation of inquiry laboratory in photosynthesis lessons to enhance students' inquiry skills, quantitative literacy, and conceptual understanding in high school. This quasi-experimental study was conducted with a population limited to XI science students at a senior high school in Halmahera Utara Regency during the 2023/2024 academic year. A non-probability sampling technique, specifically saturation sampling was used. The research design employed was a pretest-posttest control group design. There were two research groups, an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received photosynthesis instruction through inquiry laboratory, while the control group received verification practical. Data was collected using written tests assessing inquiry skills, quantitative literacy, and conceptual understanding. Based on data analysis, there was a significant difference in inquiry skills, quantitative literacy, and conceptual understanding between the experimental and control groups. The effect size test indicated that inquiry laboratories had a strong influence on improving students' inquiry skills and a moderate influence on improving their quantitative literacy and conceptual understanding of photosynthesis.
