Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa terhadap materi ajar, yang faktor penyebab utamanya adalah pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru (teacher centered). Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, peneliti mencoba menerapkan model pembelajaran Children Learning in Science (CLIS), dimana model pembelajaran CLIS berpusat pada siswa (student centered), melalui aktivitas hands on/minds on, dan menggunakan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA materi energi bunyi dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Children Learning in Science (CLIS). Penelitian tersebut dilaksanakan di SDN 4 Cibodas Kecamatan Lembang Kabupaten Bandung Barat terhadap siswa kelas IV. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep dan melalui observasi serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil tes pemahaman konsep diolah secara kuantitatif, sedangkan observasi dan studi dokumentasi diolah secara deskriptif kualitatif kemudian disimpulkan. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, diperoleh temuan bahwa model pembelajaran CLIS dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi energi bunyi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa dari prasiklus ke siklus I mengalami peningkatan sebesar 44,44% dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 68,59, dan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 29,63% dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 85,30. Selain itu, kegiatan pembelajaran menjadi berpusat kepada siswa (student centered) dimana siswa terlibat secara aktif dalam setiap kegiatan pembelajaran. Saran penulis yaitu bagi guru dan peneliti lain yang berkepentingan agar dapat mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran CLIS pada pokok bahasan atau mata pelajaran lain selain mengenai energi bunyi dan mata pelajaran IPA. This research is motivated by the low level of student’s understanding concept of teaching materials, which are the main causes of teacher-centered learning. To overcome this, researcher try to apply the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) model, where the model is student-centered, through the activity of a hands-on/minds-on, and use the environment as a learning resource. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to describe the planning, execution, and results of an increase in student’s understanding concepts by applying Children Learning in Science (CLIS) model to science learning materials about energy of sound. The study was conducted in SDN 4 Cibodas District Lembang West Bandung Regency to fourth grade students. The research method used was Classroom Action Research. Data collection techniques acquired through test of understanding concepts and through observation and documentation study. Test of understanding concept was analyzed quantitatively, while the observation and study documentation processed by qualitative descriptive later concluded. From the results of these studies had findings that CLIS learning model can enhance student’s understanding concept to the material of energy of sound. Based on the analysis of student’s increased understanding concept prasiklus to the first cycle increased by 44.44% with an average value of 68.59, and from cycle I to cycle II of 29.63% with an average value of 85.30. In addition, the activity became student-centered learning where students are actively involved in each learning activity. The author suggestions for teachers and other interested researchers in order to apply the learning model CLIS on the subject or other subjects than the energy of sound and science subjects.
