Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat self-esteem siswa sekolah dasar berdasarkan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan jenis kelamin, fenomena bullying yang terjadi pada sekolah sebanyak 30% dirasakan pada tingkat sekolah dasar atau generasi alfa, hal ini disebabkan oleh rendahnya self-esteem pada kesehatan mental dapat mengacu terjadinya kasus bullying. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, Teknik pengambilan sampel terdapat 2 tahap yaitu tahap ke satuTeknik cluster sampling untuk menentukan daerah yang diteliti sehingga mendapatkan 5 SDN Kelurahan Sarijadi, Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung, tahap ke dua yaitu Teknik proportionate stratified random sampling untuk menentukan jumlah sampel sehingga berjumlah 108 siswa dan siswi kelas 4 dan 5. Data dikumpulan melalui angket (RESS) Rosenberg Self-esteem Scala, Analisis data menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistic 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tingkat self-esteem keseluruhan siswa dan siswi yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler berada pada kategori tinggi sebanyak 34 siswa (31,5%), dan Tingkat self-esteem berdasarkan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler menunjukan bahwa kategori sangat tinggi sebanyak 6 siswi perempuan (11,10%) pada cabang olahraga, pencak silat, taekwondo dan karate, sedangkan kategori sangat rendah sebanyak 7 siswa dan siswi (13,0%) pada cabang olahraga futsal, pencak silat dan renang. tingkat self-esteem berdasarkan jenis kelamin berada pada kategori sangat tinggi pada siswi perempuan sebanyak 6 siswi (11,10%), dan kategori tinggi pada siswa laki-laki sebanyak 24 siswa (44,45%), Implikasi dari hasil ini perlunya dukungan orang tua dan manajemen ekstrakurikuler yang baik dalam peningkatan self-esteem siswa, maka penelitian selanjutnya dapat memperhatikan populasi yang lebih beragam serta menambahkan berbagai macam permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan self-esteem. The method in this study uses a quantitative descriptive method, the sampling technique has 2 stages, namely the first stage, is a cluster sampling technique to determine the area under study to get 5 SDN Sarijadi Village, Sukasari District, Bandung City, the second stage, namely the proportionate stratified random sampling technique to determine the number of samples so that there are 108 students and female students in grades 4 and 5. The results showed that the overall self-esteem level of students and female students who participated in extracurricular activities was in the high category of as many as 34 students (31.5%), and the level of self-esteem based on extracurricular activities showed that the category was very high as many as 6 female students (11.10%) in sports, pencak silat, taekwondo and karate, while the category was very low as many as 7 students and female students (13.0%) in futsal, pencak silat and swimming. The level of self-esteem based on gender is in the very high category in female students as many as 6 students (11.10%), and the high category in male students as many as 24 students (44.45%), The implication of these results is the need for parental support and good extracurricular management in increasing students' self-esteem, so further research can pay attention to a more diverse population and add a variety of problems related to self-esteem.
