Abstract

Budaya hierarki yang mengakar dalam masyarakat Korea mengakibatkan munculnya kesenjangan penggunaan ragam honorifik dalam komunikasi. Dismilaritas tersebut dapat diamati melalui tayangan drama Korea Juvenile Justice yang berlatar di lingkungan kerja dengan budaya hierarki yang masih melekat. Dengan metode analisis kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelisik dua klasifikasi ragam honorifik akhiran kalimat dengan tingkat kesopanan rendah berdasarkan teori milik Sohn (1999) yang muncul dalam dialog tokoh Shim Eunseok dengan Cha Taeju pada episode satu hingga empat. Penelitian ini turut memakai teori milik Lee (1999) untuk menguak faktor yang memengaruhi penggunaannya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ragam honorifik dengan tingkat kesopanan rendah, yaitu intimate dan plain didominasi oleh tokoh Shim Eunseok. Sementara tokoh Cha Taeju cenderung menggunakan ragam honorifik dengan tingkat kesopanan tinggi (deferential dan polite) meskipun sesekali turut menyisipkan ragam honorifik dengan tingkat kesopanan rendah. Representasi penggunaan ragam honorifik akhiran kalimat yang tidak sopan dalam lingkup formal membuktikan adanya perpaduan pengaruh dari perspekstif penutur dengan budaya hierarki yang masih dijunjung. Keseluruhan empat faktor honorifik dalam teori Lee (1999) telah terbukti memengaruhi pemilihan ragam honorifik akhiran kalimat pada dialog Shim Eunseok dengan Cha Taeju, yaitu faktor kelas sosial, usia, konteks sosial, dan tingkat keakraban. Di luar teori Lee (1999), terdapat pula faktor jenis kelamin yang turut memengaruhi pemilihan ragam honorifik akhiran kalimat pada data yang terhimpun. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu menambah wawasan mengenai keragaman honorifik akhiran kalimat dengan tingkat kesopanan rendah dalam lingkup relasi mitra kerja pada bahasa Korea beserta faktor yang memengaruhinya.

The deep-rooted hierarchical culture in Korean society caused a disparity in using honorifics. The disparity is observable in the Korean drama Juvenile Justice, which has a hierarchical work environment. Using the descriptive qualitative analysis method, this research examines two classifications of honorific sentence endings with a low politeness based on Sohn's theory (1999) that are present in the dialogue between Shim Eunseok and Cha Taeju from episodes one to four. Through the perspectives of Shim Eunseok and Cha Taeju, this research applies Lee's theory (1999) to identify the variables that affect the use of honorifics. The findings indicate that Shim Eunseok uses the low politeness honorific variety more frequently, such as intimate and plain. Meanwhile, Cha Taeju tends to use honorifics with a high level of politeness, although he occasionally inserts honorifics with a low level of politeness. The use of honorifics with a low politeness in formal settings serves as an illustration of the interaction between the speaker's perspective and the society that upholds hierarchy. All four honorific factors in Lee's theory (1999) have been found to influence the selection of honorific sentence endings in Shim Eunseok's dialogue with Cha Taeju, namely social class, age, social context, and level of intimacy. Apart from Lee's theory, there is also a gender factor that influences the dissimilarity of the variety of honorific sentence endings in the collected data. This research is expected to provide knowledge of the Korean honorific sentence endings with a low politeness and the factors that influence them.

본 연구는 한국 드라마 Juvenile Justice에서 나타나는 높임말 사용을 분석하여, 한국 사회에 뿌리내린 위계 문화와 그에 따른 의사소통 방식을 이해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한국 사회의 위계 문화는 높임말을 존중의 상징으로 자리 잡게 하였으며, 이러한 높임말 사용의 차이점은 드라마의 작업 환경을 통해 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구는 Sohn(1999) 의 이론에 근거하여 설명적 질적 분석 방법을 사용하여 심은석과 차태주의 대화에 사용된 덜 예의 바른 문장 종결의 두 가지 유형을 분류한다. 또한, 문장 어미의 높임말 사용의 다양성을 규명함과 동시에, Lee (1999)의 이론을 적용하여 심은석과 차태주의 관점에서 높임말 사용에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 심은석은 친밀감, 평범함 등 낮은 예의 존댓말 문장 결말 버라이어티를 더 자주 사용하는 것으로 나타났으며, 차태주는 예의가 높은 존댓말을 (deferential와 polite) 사용하는 경향이 있지만, 때때로 예의가 낮은 존댓말을 삽입하기도 한다. 특히, 회사와 같은 공식적인 자리에서 동료 간 높임말 어미 사용 방식의 차이는 대담자의 관점이 중요한 역할을 한다는 점이 입증되었다. Lee (1999)의 4가지 존댓말 요인은 모두 심은석의 차태주와의 대화에서 존댓말 어미 선택에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌습니다. 이씨(1999)의 이론과는 별개로 수집된 자료에서 존댓말 어미의 다양성이 상이한 것에 영향을 미치는 성별 요인도 있습니다. 이 연구는 낮은 정치성의 한국어 존칭 문장 결말과 그에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 지식을 제공할 것으로 기대한다.
