Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perbedaan perspektif guru terhadap hakikat Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Adapun hal yang akan dikaji terutama terhadap (1) tujuan, (2) konten, dan (3) metode yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPS dengan menggunakan metode Q. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengobservasi apakah terdapat keterkaitan antara persepsi guru mengenai hakikat IPS dengan realitas yang diterapkan di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian campuran untuk mempelajari subjektivitas guru. Metode penarikan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah nonprobablity sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melaksanakan survei, wawancara dan observasi eksperimental. Data survei dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis faktor melalui perangkat lunak KenQ Analysis, sedangkan data wawancara dan observasi diolah dengan menggunakan model analisis Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat macam-macam persepsi guru terhadap hakikat IPS, di antaranya (1) pembentukan moral; (2) peningkatan akademik; (3) inkuiri reflektif; (4) kritik sosial; dan (5) pengembangan pribadi. Setiap perspektif saling tumpang tindih satu sama lain. Namun, terdapat hal yang membedakannya dilihat dari tujuan, konten, dan metode yang digunakan sampai pada batas tertentu. Selanjutnya, untuk melihat apakah terdapat keterkaitan antara persepsi guru dengan realitas yang diterapkan di dalam kelas, peneliti melakukan observasi kepada salah satu guru. Tampaknya, perspektif dari guru yang diobservasi tersebut belum semua dapat terealisasikan ke dalam pembelajaran IPS. Maka dari itu, peneliti melakukan observasi eksperimental dengan cara mengintervensi guru melalui treatment tertentu. Setelah guru mendapatkan treatment, terdapat peningkatan dan kesesuaian antara perspektif dan realitas di dalam kelas. This research aims to examine teachers' perceptions regarding the nature of social studies, especially (1) purposes, (2) contents, and (3) methods used in social studies learning using Q method. Apart from that, this research observes whether there is a relationship between teachers' perceptions regarding the nature of social studies and the reality applied in classroom. This research is a mixed method research to study teacher subjectivity. The sampling method used is nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by carrying out surveys, interviews and experimental observations. Survey was analyzed using factor analysis via KenQ Analysis software, while interview and observation were processed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The research results show that there are various teacher perceptions of the nature of social studies, including (1) moral formation; (2) academic improvement; (3) reflective inquiry; (4) social criticism; and (5) personal development. Each perspective overlaps with each other. However, there are things that differentiate them in terms of purposes, contents and methods used to a certain extent. Next, to see whether there was a connection between teacher’s perception and the reality applied in the classroom, researcher made observations on one of the teachers. It seems that not all of the perspectives of the teachers observed can be realized in social studies learning. Therefore, the researcher carried out experimental observations by intervening the teacher through certain treatments. After the teacher received treatment, there was an improvement and match between perspective and reality in the classroom.
